If money were not an issue, which brand and vehicle would you recommend? I'm in the market for a new car by the end of March? I'm leaning towards a BMW 5 series but I keep looking at the others and keep going back and forth. I do not want an SUV, I prefer the handling and acceleration of a car.

No Batmobile jokes, especially you Batman!

Deutchland duetchland Uber ales!

Mercedes. Built like tanks.

...but what about the handling?? I didn't like the 7 series BMW because it feels like a tank and preferred the ride of the 535x series.

Brother, listen to SH, you can't go wrong.

Money is always an issue. That being said, probably the Mercedes. I have liked every one I have driven, can't say the same about BMW. I've still not driven an Audi.

If money is not an issue test drive the Audi 8. I believe you would be cracking the $100,000 threshold. I drove my brother's car for a day and it was an incredible ride. Then again anything is better than my 2006 Impala.

One word.

LEXUS

Anyone drives one that can back me up?.

I love the way my bmw drives. The 5 series is a fantastic car. Maintenance for the first four years is included with the bmw which is a good thing as typically regular maintenance on these cars can range from $500 to $1000 per year assuming no significant problems. The new A6 and the E class are also great cars. Can't go wrong with any the car brands you selected - buy which one you like the best. Nevertheless, if you buy a lexus it will likely be in the shop less.

I drive a 2011 Cadillac CTS and I wouldn't trade it for any of the mentioned cars. I love my luxurious ride.

The only one of these cars I've experienced was an Audi A6, and it was an amazing drive/ride, but it did have a lot of minor mechanical issues for the first 5000 miles or so. I called it "the $60K bucket of bolts". However once it settled down it was fine.

I tested the 550xi and E350 last Fall and decided to stick to my 3 just a little bit longer. The just doesnt feel like a Bimmer anymore. Its solid, but doesnt put a grin on my face when i drive it. If i wanted solid, id get the E class.

Mercedes used to build them solid. My first C230 was a tank. now theyre just ok.

Audi has done a great job putting out some nice cars. best interiors hands down. I find them cramped for space in each size category and quality control is still iffy, i hear.

I have owned a 3 series beamer. It was the 325I and drove it for a couple of years. I found the repairs and maintenance much to expensive and now drive a Honda Accord coupe. I wouldn't go back to beamer, I love my Honda.

I've loved every Mercedes I've driven. I own an old one right now and its still tight and solid.

You really can't beat German engineering. The Italians come close with the high end sports cars but for everyday luxury vehicles I have to hand it to the Germans.

Actually smooth, if you follow the show Top Gear Mercedes aren't that well engineered......

Now BMW and Audi, they all have great reps.

Remember the OP said money wasn't an issue, so in that case, the Bentley Coupe or any of the Aston Martins.......
