Actually smooth, if you follow the show Top Gear Mercedes aren't that well engineered......

Now BMW and Audi, they all have great reps.

Remember the OP said money wasn't an issue, so in that case, the Bentley Coupe or any of the Aston Martins.......
Go with the Audi. The S-line is great.

In the same price range as the BMW 5 you have the newly designed Audi 6 which I have test driven and is great or the Mercedes E-Class. For a smidgeon more you get the Audi 7 which I would rank first or the four, then the 6, the E and last the 5.
Not sure I agree with the comment on engineering on the E . With the exception of electronic gadgets (Audi wins) I'd put the the Mercedes as best built. Audi 4 wheel drive is pretty good though. I've owned Audi's and Mercedes - haven't owned a Bimmer yet.

In my opinion reliability goes to Mercedes but driving and performance goes to BMW and Audi. In reailty anyone of these brands is a winner it really comes down to preference.

Try the BMW M3. More sporty then a five series. Can get it in a sedan, coupe or convertible.

One word.

LEXUS

Anyone drives one that can back me up?.

I'm sorry but I think Lexus and my pride and joy Caddy CTS are not in the same category as BMW, Mercedes or Audi. Although a higher end reliable vehicle it still lags behind it's German counter parts on the glitz and glitter.

Sheesh, I wish I had your problem Robin, I feel for you caped tutu wearing bandit!:smiling:

I'd take a bmw 545I any day of the week. Power, handling and all around a fun car to drive providing you avoid the radar traps.

Thank you for your input guys, it's much appreciated. I should have put a cap because my statement of money is not an object is not entirely true although I wish it were. The max is $125000.00 or a $1200.00 maybe $1300.00 monthly lease payment.

I do want to stick with one of the German brands and a sedan all wheel drive as I will be using it all year round. I do have a summer toy I can play with but it's only a 2 seater and summer driven only.

Yes, crime fighting does pay. You should have stuck with me Batman!

I ended up purchasing a BMW535XI, what a ride. Now all I need to do is put a few fins and spoilers around it. Have a flame throwing muffler installed. Batman eat your heart out!!

Driven one of each, Audi is the most fun to drive hands down. Take one for a spin see for yourself

I hope you put on a big assed trailer hitch and get a pair of brass balls to hang from it!

I have an M series Bimmer, and it is a fun car to drive. Chugs gas like a truck though.

Mercedes cars are nice but all are auto trans. Audi has a nice lineup for sure.

When you spend that kind of money on a car who wants to worry about shifting gears?

Oh, don't get me started on that. There are those who drive stick and then there are the rest. Auto trans on sports cars is for old farts and most women ( there are exceptions here).

So you are saying you enjoy tugging on something hard and long while you're driving?:shocking:

Nice car btw.

Can I have your trust fund or job(as long as it pays over 300, 000/year) lol

Not to put aspersions on people's choices, but my choice is usually to avoid all European cars, including the German ones. Road jewlery: they look good, but fragile.
