For Everyone:

This is my all time favorite TV comedy sketch, Special Skills, from the 5 Feb 1989 episode, (S03E10), of The Tracey Ullman Show.

I was hoping that an upgrade might have surfaced by now. I found the 5 Sep 2003 .mpeg rip of my '89 SP VHS cap on YouTube, but split into two parts, so I put it up for you all as a single file. The quality is better than most, for old VHS tapes digitalized with early 2000's software.

It's possible that The Tracey Ullman Show may never be released on DVD or Blu-Ray, for two reasons: ongoing rights issues involving The Simpsons characters, who originally appeared on the show, and music rights issues - many of the episodes featured popular songs incorporated into the sketches, such as when Tracey sang Goldfinger in the Beverly Hills Proc sketch, set in a divorce settlement meeting.

Rights to use the songs may have been obtained for the broadcast, but not for manufacture in other mediums, and they might have to negotiate with 60 or more different ownership entities, to be able to include all of the music sketches.

If anyone puts it out, it will probably be Shout! Factory, or some country that doesn't have any copyright laws, where all the targeted torrent sites now have their domains.

In addition to Tracey as Gigi, this sketch also stars Dan Castellaneta, (the voice of Homer Simpson), as Leonard, Anna Levine, (a regular cast member, but only for season 3), as Renée, and Janeen Rae Heller as Pat, in her first of four television acting appearances. I never saw her in anything else.

You may or may not be able to access this link, as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPatcEmR024&list=UUMOzhFm09zMwU-G-j6s1Ehw

That one's for my YouTube channel. I don't know if people who aren't logged in to the account can access that link. I never sign out, because I can't remember the password to get back in.

After seeing the video, you may find the hidden formatting joke in the top part.

The audio is a bit low for the first minute or so, but I think that may have been the show itself, or the station broadcast. I don't know how to boost the audio in only part of a video, and no one was doing that for Internet clips when this one was made.

This is pure gold, with one surprise after another. Enjoy it many times.
