If they can only perform the surgery :PEACE:

Just imagine.

They are pretty good at making the incision, but suck at tying the sutures.

I've got direct experience with dogs sniffing people with certain types of cancer (or at least a byproduct of the metabolistic process caused by cancer cells). In my experience, they are never wrong except when the patient has bacon in their pocket.

I don't understand why people get so upset that others in the world consume dog, just as we in the west consume cows, pigs, chickens etc. Please don't make the excuse that a dog is highly intelligent and therefore there is some difference based on this fact. Pigs, for example, are very intelligent creatures - some would say just as intelligent as dogs. But, many of us still love bacon and pork chops just the same. I have never heard anyone (except Muslims and vegetarians/vegans) object to someone eating pork.

Why, in the West, do we always impose our collective values upon other societies? Why in the West do we assume that our way of doing things is superior to others? Why is what we do in the West 'good' and what others do outside the western hemisphere considered barbaric?

I have no interest in eating dog meat in Canada as I have many meat choices already; but I would eat dog meat if I was in China and it was served to me. I have no objection to others that eat dog meat either.

If it were just about eating meat there would be no difference. But do some research, talk to those who've actually witnessed the barbarity and the utter cruelty of the dog meat trade, then make your comparisons to food animals in ""our western world" .Educate yourself before you start whining about another topic. We are a civilized society, that's why we impose our "values" on others, being civilized should be something every society should want to be and cruelty should be something people with humanity SHOULD want stopped everywhere. But there are many unfortunately like yourself who can't grasp that idea and enjoy watching other beings suffer, or simply don't care, until it is they or theirs who the suffering is put upon:)

For those of us who know and understand dogs, imagine the torment and torture, they endure before they are slaughtered. They are literally stuffed into cages and transported on journeys that are long, extremely humid, hot and many don't survive, many suffocate, die from thirst, exhaustion,or from aggressive behavior from others. Often times, because they so crammed to stop aggression, they'll have their paws tied behind their backs and snouts tied shut, and we all know dogs cool themselves by panting, so imagine that suffering. Anyone who thinks this is normal, okay or doesn't care imo is lacking something!!

We treat our dogs as friends and they make us happy. Pigs don't waggle their tails when they see you. Cows don't cuddle with you when they feel you are hurt or crying. Chickens never fetch the ball when you throw it at them. You are comparing pancakes to pizza and makes no sense but to each their own.

No cats is a different story.

An animal is an animal and should be treated with respect regardless of what country. Organization like PETA take the issue to an extreme and we can't all be vegetarians. When is the last time you were in China?

I haven't been to China in a while.

I have a 'gf' there and my wife was born there, so I need to get back there soon.

the reality is our DNA contains 2 African genes not Asian

Good to know, not sure why race is even relevant, they eat dog meat in Switzerland and other countries. The barbarity of the handling of the animals and the cruelty seems to be found more however in Countries that also lack particular laws and an understanding of civility and compassion, for people as well.
@Johnnybegood-not sure anyone has to travel to China to know what exists there, however, there are many who have, that's how we know what we know. As far as Peta, sometimes being extreme is necessary too bring change. As far as being vegan or vegetarian, that is a choice. It's fine to choose what you eat or don't but none of us should want that which we choose to eat, to have to suffer needlessly. In North America, there is a system/laws, however imperfect, to protect the treatment of animals. That is part of the problem in other countries like China, there is none.
