Why didn't they think of this prior to banning pitbulls! It is still not a law I'd be in agreement with. Dogs bite, and they bite for a reason, 99% of those reasons involve human causes, mistakes, or actions.Yet we still continue to punish the dogs! To sentence a dog to a punishment after one, imo, incident isn't sensible. Punish the owners, christ, when are humans going to be responsible for actions they themselves cause!! Isn't it a shame that we don't take human on human violence as seriously!!
Idiots shouldn't own dogs, those who are to busy to socialize or properly train their dog, shouldn't own a dog. Dogs are social animals, they think, they feel and they react. Most dogs that end up in shelters, end up there because the owner couldn't properly care for it because they picked the wrong dog. So many people pick a dog for it's looks and not it's temperament. So many don't train, so many think leaving a dog home all day or night is fine and to many can't afford to keep their dog. The cruelest thing you can do to a dog, is ignore it, or leave it alone.Dogs are expensive, time consuming and a responsibility for their life time. They deserve respect, and a lifetime of responsible care. If you can't provide that ,then don't get one. Pet ownership isn't a right, it's a privilege.
