What's the big deal?. My mom used to give our dogs everything she cooked, even chicken bones and they were all healthy. Stop wasting your money.

What's the big deal?. My mom used to give our dogs everything she cooked, even chicken bones and they were all healthy. Stop wasting your money.
Dogs are omnivores and scavengers...they will eat practically anything. But, a balanced, nutritious diet is obviously a better choice. My mom, a vet for 40 years, makes her own dog food from people food....mostly rice, chicken, meat leftovers, etc. Personally, I buy the expensive stuff from vets because I have done the analysis and know what's in it. But for those on a budget, the premium dog food from places like Loblaw are also good.
