The saddest part is that they attack innocent people like their owners/friends and are completely uncontrollable. Anybody that wants to own a breed like that is a fucking idiot. Dogs are living animals and can not be 100% controlled 100% of the time. The difference is that when a little poodle or yorkie gets mad it bites with its little teeth & does minimal damage. A pitbull mauls and does maximum damage.
Not a lot of people get Doberman, German Shepherds or Rottweilers because they are so good with the kids and well-behaved. They are working dogs and that's what you expect of them. That's the foolish part about Pit Bulls, people get them as house pets. You look at their neck and shoulders, the width and strength of their jaws and it's pretty obvious the animals aren't meant for close quarters personal protection.
That's for yippy little dogs. They aren't house pets, that's for small to medium dogs. They are natural killers, that's what they do. I got a Collie for my kids cause the girl will never be able to hurt them, just trying to grab and hold onto one of them would probably hurt the dog's thin jaw and long neck more than the child.
Sure, an animal doesn't think like you expect them to an they do use their bite to express themselves but a dog that can kill anyone or anything it gets a hold of isn't an appropriate family or neighborhood pet.
Pits have been designed through breeding to be guard dogs (as opposed to watch dogs).
But at the end of the day if a dog is biting people without being commanded to first, or worse attacking its own family- that is an owner issue. Not a breed issue.
more pit bull denials
In the 11-year period of 2005 through 2015, canines killed 360 Americans. Pit bulls contributed to 64% (232) of these deaths. Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers contributed to 76% of the total recorded deaths.
wow your data is impressive although my internet scan found differing numbers, lol. That's as you said 360 Americans in 11 yrs, but we are in Canada, couldn't you find any Canadian numbers:-Cool/". How many have been killed by guns, Mr.internet surveyor or by other humans, in that same 11 yrs.......how many thousands? Are you going to recommend a ban on guns, on certain individuals....... Hmmmmmm, are you going to rally against them, or does your internet searches and posts only become necessary when a story involves a pit bull or pit bull mix dog. As I said before in another post, and an issue for some strange reason you ignore, instead of spending time collecting data off the internet, data to which you know nothing of it's source, go out there and learn about dogs in person, or even better, start a crusade to help stop violence among black menraying:. Or is that to complicated and real for you. Reality isn't that scary you know, but then again that would take real effort!!
why don't find research which support your pro pit bull claims instead of typing long ranting paragraphs?
you twisted the stats to suit your views. dog bite incidence have decreased since the pit bull ban
There has to be something mentally wrong with you......no one can be this thick....just sad.
@OG, the little dogs do sometimes seem to have personalities that defy their sizeBack when I had a toy poodle, all of 6 lbs, upon a visit to a local dog park, she encountered a curious and friendly very large mastiff, she didn't like his enthusiasm so she grabbed hold of his lip and hung there until I removed her, lol. It was quite a site, That Mastiff didn't know what to do, lol. Btw, the Mastiff was unharmed

FWIW, I agree completely. I suspect my next dog will be a French Bulldog, and they are tiny character-laden beasties. It's the dressed-up, foo-fooed, beribboned like yappy dogs with no house training or manners that annoy me, and they are always toy breeds. They are not pets, they are fashion statements.
