Many of us know what it’s like to dig our way out of a large snowfall, but few have seen a bird’s eye view of our neighbourhoods buried in the white stuff.

After an arctic blast hit upstate New York this week, James Grimaldi had little to do but shovel. When he got bored, the West Seneca filmmaker attached a camera to his drone and took a trip around the block.
The result was stunning footage of just how devastating this week’s blizzard was, including collapsed trees and neighbours shovelling snow off rooftops.

It’s a unique perspective, given how difficult it is to get news cameras inside a blizzard.
