Made with Love

Hello HUBGFE !

This would help with public and politcal perception of prostitution, no doublt. This is something that would have provided a fantastic argument prior to the proposal of Bill C-36, had it been in place.
But as HOOKED asked, how does this help with a law that has already passed?
Is the plan to have a standards verification procedure in place to stage a call for repeal of C-36?

Just my opinion but standards and regulations is the first step towards licensing.
C-36 will likely evolve rather than repeal.

Coalitions traditionally are the first groups to set the standards.

There are a few questions you haven't answered yet.

Please do when your legal team allows you to.

Thanks.

Nothing against HUBGFE but why inaugurate it here first?

HUBGFE is a great community and we were sure that it would be well received :).

How will this help us from getting caught or harassed by cops. Or if one is caught, what is the protocol?.

By utilizing the services of member agencies you are minimizing the risk that you'll get caught up in enforcement action. Most member agencies already have a relationship with TPS. They are certainly more interested in agencies that are exploitive or break the rules.

How do you collect money to pay the hosting and to have a full time tech person?.

There is an application fee and a yearly membership fee. This covers expenses. The board members provide their time and expertise as volunteers.
There is no membership or fee required for clients or companions. This is a resource for you to know with much greater certainty that the member agencies a rerun ethically and responsibly. Should you need our services to file a complaint ( and I hope you never do ), they are provided at no cost.

That is easy, it's because HUBGFE has the most intelligent well mannered members except maybe for_____ and ______ and _____

Kidding aside, how will this fight BillC36?? How will this help to bring 36 to the courts and get it squashed like the bug of a bill it really is.

TRAC is not an answer to C36. Rather it's just the right thing to do. By supporting and encouraging others to use member agencies we can prove that the misconceptions and stereotypes surrounding this industry are unfounded. This business can be and is, by a lot of us, run ethically. The first step towards change is to change perception.

That's pretty self explanatory, if you've been following what is going on: The abolitionist rhetoric is all about how all sexworkers are victims, forced into the trade by traffickers by use of drugs and physical coersion. By forming something like TRAC, it enshrines the idea that this is untrue in a way that someone not involved in the industry can understand. I think it's a great idea. :good:

Will this be just a Toronto initiative, or will you be reaching out to agencies in nearby cities as well, considering the established crossover with MTL, Hamilton, Ottawa (...)?

Would independants and independant collectives also be joining?

I see you remember our conversation from a few years ago. As we're just starting out we're planning on the GTA for now but hope to one day be Canada wide.

TRAC began as an idea many many years ago. Right now we're just focused on getting word out there that we exist and what we do. Where that takes us in the future is really uncertain although we do certainly plan to do all we can.

That is certainly in part the hope....

As I posted earlier, TRAC is made up of volunteers. I will try to answer every question in a timely manner but please cut me some slack if I don't get to it as quickly as I'd like....please :).

Anything that will help deal with this ridiculous moralistic base pandering law is a good thing.

Cudos to the top agencies for taking the initiative to be self regulatory. Im sure that LE will have their resources strained to deal with the real criminals out there and should be willing to let the stakeholders in this field work alongside them for the benefit of all.

No pictures or alphabet would bypass this new law, so what should we be looking as a passable entry?.

Sounds good :)

Just imagine that all agencies become one.

Who would be in charge (leader?).
