Not sure yet, but I hope Reimer gets the nod first. He really has earned it and had a good camp. They can then flip flop until someone steps up or play poorly enough that there is a consensus #1.

Kessel's extension is expected to be announced this morning. Rumour is 8 yr. x 8 mil with limited no trade clause. I personally think it was good to keep Kessel. He has been their most consistent point producer - in fact not just for the team but in the league. He is going to be 26 this year, and 8 years is not unreasonable as he'll only be 34 by the end of the contract term.

I hope they can lock up Phaneuf as well (though a shorter term contract). I know he is not the best D-man out there necessarily, but he logs a lot of minutes against the best of the opposition and he has done a lot for the community as well. Lupul I think is a pretty good leader, but until he can stay healthy and play full seasons and be productive, I don't think he is captain material till then.
