I really like this kid Galllagher, he's great from the blue line in.

Lars Eller looks like he could break out this year as well.

But Price is the key for them. He goes through stretches where he is unbeatable but then at other times just looks horrible. They need more consistency from him.

Yes they do. You're right, he will be the key player this season. I don't know if I'm the only one that looks at it this way, but sometimes he's just nonchalant in his saves, sorta like he is not giving it his full effort. But he is still a great young goalie. Also if Alexei Markov can stay healthy, they have a 1, 2 punch from the back end with Subban

See from what I am seeing Markov looks like he has lost a step.

And that is too be expected with those two knee surgeries he had I guess.

I wouldn't be to shocked to see Diaz get more and more ice time as the season goes on.

Tinordi looks promising as well, that was quite a licking he put on Carter Ashton the other night.

MB, what do you think of Bernier? He's looking pretty damn good in between the pipes. I have a feeling he's going to be called the number one goalie very soon. He's a better puck handler and it's already noticeable the defense plays better with him in net.

Ottawa looks like a promising team. I like their speed and puck movement. This should be a great season, especially with Detroit back in the same conference as the Leafs.

Bernier would have been a #1 for most teams in the NHL a few seasons ago but was stuck behind Quick in L.A.

He's not the biggest in the world but his positional play is outstanding. And like you said when he gets the puck back there you know you are in good hands. Reimer handles the puck like a hand grenade sometimes,lol.

My guess is that Bernier is the #1 rather quickly and Reimer is the perfect team first type of guy to be an outstanding back up

Karlsson bothers me.

The guy I saw play last night was not the same guy who won the Norris trophy in my opinion.

And if he can't skate up to his usual level then he is not up to much use. He's still sub par in his own end and sometimes looks lost defensively.

The loss of Silvrberg is another one that will hurt down the road. This kid is going to be a good one, you watch.

Their main problem is burying their chances. They have a bunch of pluggers who skate all over the place and grind like there is no tomorrow but couldn't shoot the puck off a dock and hit the water for Christs sake.

But they are well stocked in Binghampton for the future so they will be very competitive for the years to come.

I predict a 6th or 7th place finish this season

I was rooting for Reimer. He came up big for us down the stretch and in the playoffs last year. Without him, there wouldn't even have been a Gm#7 with the Bruins last year. Having said that, the fact that the Leafs brought in Bernier spoke volumes about their faith in Reimer to get them to the next level. I like Bernier's play so far. I too think he'll emerge as the #1 for the team soon, but I hope that won't effect Reimer's play too much cause a good backup is really important. Best case scenario we get a Luongo Schneider situation in our hands.

I agree with you assessments Maurice, you have a keen eye for the game. I believe Bernier is and will be the number one goalie with Riemer as a steady backup. We haven't had a good puck handling goalie since Ed Belfour and Grant Furh. Another huge acquisition the leafs made was Dave Bolland who leads by example and plays an entire 60 minutes of hockey. The Leafs will definitely make it into post season and then as we see over and over anything is possible.

We lost to Colorado 2-1 but what an entertaining game. Roy is steel as a coach and has a solid team but we are just as good.

I don't really care if we have a #1 or not per se. As long as we win, I don't really care who's in net. Have to say Bernier has looked really good thus far, but I'm not ready to give up on Reimer yet either...
