Woman puts gas can in car seat -- but not toddler

(CNN) - It must have been a valuable gas can.A Colorado driver drew the ire of many after she strapped a gas can to a child car seat -- but left a toddler in a diaper restrained only with a lap belt.A police officer in the city of Aurora who stopped the driver during a routine "Click it or Ticket" seat belt enforcement check snapped a photo of what he saw.

The Colorado Department of Transportation posted the photo on its Facebook with a message that read:"Unbelievable! This heartbreaking photo was taken by an officer... Share it to remind everyone that life is precious, so please be responsible and make sure children are properly restrained in the appropriate child safety seat.

"
By Wednesday morning, angry readers flooded the page with more than 200 comments and more than 600 others had re-posted it on their pages."Sadly this photo seems to say that the parents think that gas is more valuable than the little one!" one comment read.Another said:

"The poor child. What if they got into an accident? That baby can't be older then 2 years old."
The woman told police that the child frequently unbuckled his seat belt, CNN affiliate KUSA reported. An officer asked the mother if the child also frequently grabbed a gas can, buckled it into a car seat and then buckled himself in a seat next to the gas can.

The woman, the affiliate said, had no answer. The mother was ticketed for seat beat violations, a car seat violation and other traffic offenses, the affiliate reported.

JUNE 15--For the fourth time in the past two years, a Cincinnati man has been arrested for masturbating in public with the aid of a teddy bear, records show.

Charles Marshall, 28, was arrested Wednesday evening after employees at a health clinic spotted him pleasuring himself in an alley. Marshall, pictured in the adjacent mug shot, was cited for disorderly conduct.

Municipal Court records show that Marshall has already been convicted three times of engaging in public indecency/disorderly conduct with a teddy bear. The misdemeanor counts resulted in short jail sentences and small fines for Marshall.

Marshall was first busted in February 2010 when witnesses spotted him engaged “with a teddy bear in mens bathroom” at a public library (which prompted a judge to order him to “stay away all Hamilton Co. public libraries”).

He was again arrested in November 2010 and August 2011 for “masturbating w/a stuffed animal (teddy bear)” and “masturbating using a teddy bear in a public place where minors were likely to be present.”

It is unclear whether cops this week seized Marshall's teddy bear (or even if they would want to). If so, fellow Cincinnatians should look for him at an area Toys "

Ronald Page seemingly had it made when Bank of America unintentionally changed his account status, allowing the 55-year-old man to make unlimited ATM cash overdraft withdrawals.
But ABC News reports that Page, who in reality had only $300 in his checking account, used the accidental loophole to withdraw more than $1.5 million—losing it all on gambling.

And even worse for Page, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Detroit says he is now facing 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of theft of bank funds, $1,543,104 in total between December 1, 2008 and May 31, 2009.

"In this case, the bank's glitch allowed the defendant to lose a significant amount of money that was not even his in the first place," reads the U.S. Attorney's sentencing memorandum, obtained by ABC. "The fact that defendant acted on an impulse does not minimize the seriousness of his conduct and the need for a custodial sentence."

The day the Bank of America glitch went into effect, Page reportedly withdrew $312,000 from ATMs at the Greektown Casino in Detroit and an additional $51,727 from the MGM Grand Casino. Bank of America placed a hold on his account 17 days later, but he had already withdrawn $1.5 million by that point.

The glitch reportedly occurred because Page originally had a banking account with LaSalle Bank. When Bank of America acquired LaSalle, the glitch somehow occurred while the two banking institutions were transferring account information.

Page, who does not have a prior record, could have faced a steeper sentence but and placed blame with Bank of America for allowing the withdrawals to take place.
In addition to the recommended 15-month sentence and order to repay the funds, the U.S. Attorney's Office has suggested that Page be prohibited from gambling in any capacity.

"If his gambling addiction is not addressed, he is very likely to cause further financial hardship to himself and his family," the memorandum reads.

A Russian mother told witnesses she threw her two young sons to their deaths from a 15th-floor balcony because she was "fed up" with them, RT News reported Monday.
Galina Ryabkova, 30, allegedly tossed her sons, ages 4 and 7, from the Moscow apartment building where she lived with her husband.

Ryabkova reportedly later told witnesses she was "fed up with children" and "decided to get rid of them."
Stunned neighbors were alerted to the horrific incident when they heard the thump of the children's bodies hitting the ground.

"I was standing near the window and heard a loud smack," resident Tatiana Gumanyova told Life News. "I did not pay attention, [and] thought that the child just stumbled and fell. But then I heard one more smack."
Another unnamed resident said, "My wife woke me up and said that there were children falling out. We ran out and saw two children lying on the ground in front of the main door. Just at that time their mother was leaving the building. We asked her if these were her children and she replied, emotionlessly, 'Yes, I threw them away.'"

Ryabkova was said to be calm before police arrived, although she resisted slightly when they arrested her.
She later told investigators that her children were now "angels in heaven," RIA Novosti reported.

^^^^^ holy crap........my mother only threatened to send me to children's aid.....never threatened to toss me out a window.....

Teaneck Police Department

Daniel Collins, 72, has been charged with threatening to shoot his neighbor for farting in front of his home.

Odor in the court.
A 72-year-old New Jersey man has been charged with threatening to shoot his neighbor for farting in front of his home.
Instead of waving off Monday night’s flatulence attack, Daniel Collins of Teaneck pulled a .32-caliber revolver and threatened to “put a hole” in his gassy neighbor’s head, cops said.
The stink apparently stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the two men over noise, police told The Record of North Jersey.
Collins told cops his 47-year-old neighbor cut the cheese so loudly in his vestibule he heard it inside his apartment before he smelled it.
Collins was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and making terroristic threats. He was released without bail.

BARRIE - A North Bay man who used posters of real sick and dying children across Ontario to collect tens of thousands of dollars and pocketed most of the money was found guilty of fraud Thursday.
Justice John McIsaac found Adam Gour guilty because he “failed to disclose” to the public by keeping it secret that most of the money was going into his pockets.

Gour kept 95% of the donations from collection boxes and door-to-door canvassing but that alone is not a criminal offence, the judge said.
And it is also not a crime, albeit “despicable,” that he used real sick and dying children without the knowledge of the grieving families, the judge said.

The ruling will affect how charities work from now on.
The family of a child Gour used in his posters, who has since died, are relieved with the ruling.

“Thank God — somebody finally cares,” said one mother.

The amazing thing about that video is that THERE WERE 5 PASSENGERS ON THAT BIKE!

How the fuck can that not be a criminal offence??!!! Hmmmmmm

A COUPLE were caught trying to smuggle their baby through an airport – when the security scanner spotted the tot in their hand luggage.

The parents were attempting to sneak the newborn into the United Arab Emirates without a visa.

But the Egyptian couple’s plan backfired when security staff at Sharjah International noticed the outline of the baby boy on the screen.

A police spokesman said: “They were risking the life of the baby.

They said in an interrogation they’d resorted to sneaking him through inside a bag because he did not have a passport or visa and they wanted to have him with them in the UAE.”

Another police source said: “When customs officials saw the baby inside the bag at the X-ray scanner, they were stunned. This machine is very dangerous for anyone, let alone a baby in a bag to pass through.

“A case will now be raised against the mother and father. They both have visas to come to the UAE but they put the life of their child at risk.”

The couple were arrested and charged with endangering the baby’s life.

The kid could have been exposed to radiation.

Mom refuses to take back abandoned disabled daughter

A mom is making headlines for abandoning her mentally disabled daughter in another state, and then refusing to take her back. Believe it or not, the police are powerless to charge her with any crime for dumping the unwanted girl like garbage, because she isn't a minor.
Illinois resident Eva Cameron, let Lynn, 19, out of her car at a Tennessee bar to use the bathroom -- then she, according to police. She reportedly chose to desert her there, as the state has the "No. 1 health care system in the United States of America." Aww, thanks for caring, mom!

A man in Cape Coral, Florida on Wednesday was on his property.
Kenneth Bailey Roop, 52, has been charged with second-degree murder for killing 30-year-old Nicholas Rainey.

A said Rainey had knocked on Roop’s door, but received no answer. While Rainey was walking down the drive-way, Roop pulled up in his pickup truck and asked why Rainey was at his house. Rainey explained that he was selling steak and seafood. The witness said Roop then pulled out a black handgun and shot Rainey. As Rainey lay on the ground, Roop fired another bullet into the back of his head.

Roop later told police that he shot Rainey in the head “for effect” and that he had three no trespassing signs on his property. Roop said he feared for his life.
“I’m not going to give him the chance to do something to me,” he told police. “I was in fear.”

An off-duty Collier County sheriff’s deputy was nearby and heard the gunshots. When she arrived at Roop’s property, she found Rainey dying on the ground while Roop was in his garage reloading his handgun.
“He was telling the officer, ‘he stepped on my property, he trespassed, I’ll kill anybody that steps on my property,’ somewhere along them lines. It was just unbelievable,” one witness told the The News-Press. “She never flinched. She deserves a medal. I don’t think he was done [shooting].”

The deputy ordered Roop to drop his weapon and held him at gunpoint until police officers arrived.
Roop’s neighbors described him as “the neighborhood crazy.” Roop has a concealed weapons permit and approximately 14 firearms.
