Screening with Legal Names

  • Providers ask for a screening info that makes them comfortable
  • Clients provide the personal information that they are comfortable with

If the two are in agreement than everything is fine. If not than both move on. It's that simple.

I ask "Is it okay to bring a Magic Wand?" and that negates all screening and I'm in.

Most of the ladies out east using real legal name screening are usually fairly professional. You don't see them complaining about clients, putting down other people's cities, posting prospects text messages in their Twitter feeds.

I'm open to the idea if the escort is operating professionally. My review board handle and legal name will never mix.

20 something Escorts behaving unprofessionally posting client and prospect communications while acting like 14 year olds, not a chance.

In Austriallia real name screening the U.K., real name screening is the standard. All of the providers in those counties are operating at higher standard of professionalism which gives the clients confidence they can share their real names and sleep at night.

We have providers in Canada operating with similar standards. The challenge is we have a lot of providers claiming to be professional but acting unprofessionally.

In Britian and Australia the communities hold people accountable to behaving professionally. Both clients and SP are expected to behave professionally.

I was sexually assaulted by a regular client I'd been seeing for 8 years, so screening wouldn't have helped in that situation, and no, I didn't change my screening policy after that.

Sorry to hear that and here goes another one for you all to think of. Most of the rapes to young children/teenagers are done by close friends or and family members. Priests also have a bad habit of earning your trust and then .........

Just to show you screening is not all it's made out to be.

Cristy, you're very quick to demean anyone who doesn't agree with you. I don't appreciate you implying I'm an idiot, or that I'm putting other ladies in danger because I choose not to ask for reference

I just had to respond to your tongue lashing. Since you seem too read into things that aren't there and like to bash me whenever I point to your thinking or behavior as being wrong in my eyes, biased or anything other than flattering. I made no mention or inferred that you were an idiot, unless you think that those who are lucky are idiots? I think all sp's should want to side with one another, when methods of protecting ourselves (screening) are mentioned, especially when they are being discouraged by clients. Regardless of their need for you personally. Your situation with your regular, as unfortunate as it was, and I am sorry that happened to you, was one that is exceptional, since as you said, you had already vetted this person, with your intuition and sense. Yet that apparently wasn't on point that day and I'm not saying that to be mean or sarcastic, but to point out no matter how careful any of us is, no matter what screening methods/precautions we take, some will trip our processes, fool us and commit awful acts. But that doesn't negate the importance or reliability of screening in general.

To end, I too am a very intelligent business person with great intuition. I too have been fooled by those I've also very carefully screened. I too have been fucked around by other sp's. But I will still side with any women who asks for screening.

Christy,

Do you think if we did a better job of enforcing standards of professionalism across Canada like they do in parts of Europe, more clients would feel comfortable with legal name screening?

Personally I think references are a better way to judge a client then legal name. When someone I know has seen a particular client and knows they are a good client, I feel like that tells me more then their name.

I can see asking for legal name or workplace in the US, since law enforcement stings are a real risk.

Hi Fiddy, thank you for asking, but I'm not sure what the solution is since as you know, no matter how much we seem to want to improve situations for sp's and clients alike, they're still be those on both sides, making it difficult to do so. So my answer, your guess is as good as mine:)

I don't think clients will be comfortable with giving real names until the industry is decriminalized, but there will still always be clients who can't risk giving a real name in case the SP goes ballistic and misuses the information. It will take decades for prostitution to become acceptable mainstream even if it does get decriminalized.

It would also need to be more acceptable in society. Even if the laws changed it would not change the fact many companies would fire a guy who was outed as a client.

A lot lot of companies have various "morality clauses" that would allow them fire a client without any easy legal recourse.

You have to decide if you want to give someone you've never met the potential power to destroy everything you've ever worked for in your entire life for one night of fun.

Even if everything was decriminalized there is the personal privacy considerations: wives, girlfriends, family, in addition to the professional issues Fiddy mentioned.

There's nothing illegal about going to a strip club for lap dances or a body rub parlour for a nude massage. I doubt anyone is currently rushing out to tell family, partners or employers that they've partaken of those activities even though it's not criminal.

Ladies could think about what they can do to make clients feel more comfortable about giving out personal information.

You can't post like a raving lunatic on Twitter, blogs or forums all day, then expect guys to trust you with their real name. You can't threaten to out guys who piss you off and then expect them to trust you. You can't be involved in tons of drama online and expect guys to trust you. You can't have a reputation for being flaky and expect guys to trust you.

Ladies need to not act territorial about their clients or no one will be willing to give references.

Clients could start rating ladies on their reputation for being discreet and trustworthy as part of their reviews.

But this goes on on a daily basis. They may not out the client, but they sure post the screen shots of the perps and or exploit a situation. Yes, they have a right to if it went beyond the boundaries, but there are a few SP's out there that rant and rave on a constant basis of anything and everything. And THOSE are the ones I will never see. The most recent example is Abby Rose. Given the seemingly mental instability, how could or would anyone trust someone like that with personal info.

Consider the case of Nikki Thomas. An SP of seemingly high repute who is a staunch advocate for ladies in the industry.

A few years ago on this very board she detailed how she was stood up by a client that she had taken off the afternoon for from her busy schedule at school.

She tracked him down through his work information that he had given her and proceeded to invoice him through the company he worked for.

She thought this was rather clever when she posted it here.

Well, the rest of the board did not. She withdrew from here shortly thereafter.

Personally I would not give my given legal names to any SP's period. Have to put a premium on my safety and my families.

I remember that incident now that you bring it up. It was quite a few years ago. That was way ovecommunity and probably added to her flying under the radar and just (now) running her business with Allegra. We all have breakdowns because of stress, but that was uncalled for.

Worse case scenario- A client gives out his info and is outed, lets say because he met with a "flaky" or " lunatic" escort, but remember he choose this escort. This escort is one who offers all clients a way to look into her, by having reviews, a website, forum posts, etc, so again this client picked her and for whatever reason, perhaps because of the clients doings , or perhaps she's just flaky....for whatever reason, the client is outed, he gets caught fucking around, his boss finds out, his wife, his neighbors. So... the cost to him= he might loose his job, his marriage, he becomes known as a philanderer- He choose to fuck around, he choose this escort.

Worse case scenario-An escort puts up an ad, is new, an indy and she accepts a client, she's working to put herself through college, has kids, so every client is dear. She does some research on a few review boards. This client, like many, thinks it's fine to contact her and see her without giving out any info, she feels pressured, and sees that through her research, it is somewhat normal and so she accepts the client. He turns out to be a "flaky" "lunatic" decides he doesn't like what she won't do, so he beats her till she passes out-cost to her=she dies, she suffers brain damage, can't work anymore, can't go back to school, and is now known as a whore. She choose her client, she choose her profession.....

In my books human life trumps all. You all seem to base not giving out your details because of what if's and then you mention 1 incident, to reinforce your reasoning for putting sp's in harms way. Which is what you are doing when you encourage anon bookings. Do any of you ever stop and think of the sp's or is this board all client based......seriously!! Should I mention the upteem times my personla info, and my parents personal info, has been misused and outed, because of "lunatic" "flaky" clients and sp's. Before I understood the benefits and necessity of screening? Nah, none of you would care....and it would take to long anyways.

Some here will always side with clients, some with sp's, a few, with both. Regardless, there are those on both sides that are untrustworthy or "flaky lunatics". BUT that doesn't give anyone the right to devalue a sp's right to safety, her ways of obtaining it or those ways which will strengthen it and it sickens me when some of you so nonchalantly think it's your right to.

Perhaps if more clients proved themselves to be trustworthy by showing up on dates they book, by not spreading about a ladies location, by not giving up any personal info they've learned, by not short changing, but not misusing contact methods, by not acting like flaky lunatics and spreading shit online and doing other nastiness , then perhaps more ladies would feel comfortable accepting dates with gents that want to use just a board handle or a burner phone:)
And maybe some sp's would also feel more comfortable networking and referencing with other sp's when some sp's truly put the well being of other sp's and the industry at the same level they put their clients interest. In other words, when some stop being client ass kissers:) I'll keep dreaming, lol.
Personally on boards like this I think it would be a good idea if sp's could rate a client openly-by a yeah or nay next to his handle -the criteria to which would gain a positive vote being based on whether or not he is hygienic, safe, trustworthy, etc.

If the client were supplied with her actual name, he would have been able to do a background and discovered she was unstable.
The info she provided was infact only the info she wished to supply.

So you are saying that he seemed so normal?????
Seems he turned out to be the lady in your first scenario.

This goes for both client and SP.

Do you believe a client has less of a right to safety?

I believe this goes both ways.

Yup:-Cool/"

Really? lol, You could determine a persons mental state with their real name and number......Hmmmmmm I didn't realize flakiness was a reported illness, I thought intuitiveness could pick that up:) But again, you missed the point and like a plane Papa, it went right over your head:-Cool/"

but I can see how you'd think a mans safety was in jeopardy when he is alone intimately with a woman, I can see how you think :-Cool/"

You would be surprised what you can get with a name and number.

I think everyone deserves to be safe......Please do not state otherwise.
