I am following an interesting thread on another board about an SP now requiring a deposit for booking due to the fact she's sick and tired of being stood up and being a low volume escort she feels it bites into her funds.

WOW, what is this industry coming to, I won't book if an escort has a screening questionnaire imagine having to leave a deposit??

Will she compensate the john if she needs to cancel for whatever reason?:unknw:

It's becoming very common in AB and becoming that way in BC too. Many high end ladies won't book multiple hour appts. or travel or hold appointments when touring unless you have stellar references and sometimes a deposit. The business is becoming more businesslike.

I have seen many ladies here in the US ask for that not to mention verification.

My thoughts are move on and she will either get a clue or a new job.

I think it won't fly here. It's a one sided advantage to the lady not too mention discretion out the window.

I can comprehend of them losing hours and time with no shows but that is part of the business. Ask a doctor, dentist and restaurateur. They just deal with it as part of doing business. Never ever give out personal information or credit card for obvious reasons.

As long as she doesn't ask for my personal information I am fine with it.

But how can she?.

Good analysis sailor.

A deposit, huh? Who, which lady?? Does she include a satisfaction guarantee or you money back:biggrin2:

I't a tough business but no shows have been part on all industries forever. I do with the SP well, a tough business to be in. But I will never give my credit card or Paypal account information to anyone.

Paying a deposit is way too much trouble and not something I would be comfortable with for the first time meeting someone.

Doctors still get paid tho, if you make an appointment and don't show up without 24 hours cancelation notice. Just saying.

And for the sps who do this, they are almost always going to be highly reputable higher end ladies, looking for deposits on multiple hour appointments and traveling appointments. In order to set these up, you are already at a different level and the idea that you won't get a deposit returned if the sp herself can't make it is not even a consideration. Sps at this level have earned their reputations as straight shooters, and anyone who is prepaying a deposit won't have anything to worry about.

If I don't give cash advances to those I trust, why would I give one to a complete stranger? I will not do it.

I'm the same way, I wouldn't do it. I always pay as soon as I walk in to put the lady at ease but that's as far as I would go.

If it's someone like Alanna, with her rep and standing, I'd do it. It would make it easier than to schlep my ass to the ATM pre-appointment.

How is discretion out the window? You get a fake email address, she gives you a discreet one, you send the money, you go to the session.

As for accepting no-shows, I'd think those on this board would have a bit more empathy. Saying "them's the breaks! move on" is harder when you've lost out on 600$+ for the day, and you could have booked another appointment in the meantime.

I don't see it taking on the norm of the escort world, but I see nothing wrong it. She is limiting her time, therefore her availability. She is not looking for many clients, only higher end clientele and as with rates, it is her policy so who are we to question it. I think that she will remain a very successful escort and good on her for coming up with a way to assist in getting rid of the times wasters and no shows that plague SPs. Just because something happens all the time, does not make it right. B&S pics are not right and never will be and now you have forums like this, tineye etc to help. No shows are not right and now she has a deposit policy to help with that.

Not a policy for every client or every SP but for her I am sure it works, for her clients that do, I am sure it works. So let them have it.

She absolutely is entitled to implement any policy she sees fit and I'm sure she probably won't apply this to her regulars who've established a good rapport with her for the rest the market will dictate if she made the right move.

Agreed. I guess I have to ask, and maybe I am wrong on my assumption and this is strictly for discussion and fun however, why do you assume the "if" in there. As pointed out, this is more then usual conduct in HER market. Which is higher end clientele, longer dates, etc. Her lowest rate starts a $500 for 90 mins. So she is not in the realm of the normal market that we are use to here with the average cost being $200-$300/ hour and having options of hour and half hour sessions.

I can see that assumption on an agency and would even go as far as saying I don't think an agency market would bare that for them so it would not be the right move. I just don't see how that model can be applied to her case being the market she is in.
