Pretty sure she didn't mean it to be "about" her, but there's no question she did intend to provoke discussion. And in that goal she has succeeded, perhaps beyond her wildest expectations.
This thread cuts to the heart of problems with all escort review boards: the jocks who consider it their private locker room vs those who consider it "a round table" forum where ladies in the industry are welcome to speak their minds.
Without the ladies, there would be no "hobby." The jocks would have fuck themselves (Cardinal Fang can insert masturbation jokes here).
What it comes down to is a matter of civility. Unfortunately, that is sadly lacking on the part of many posters here. But as others have noted, this is a much more civil forum than other boards out there, and that's a good thing, I believe.
However, over the past couple years we have seen many ladies withdraw from discussions. They have obviously concluded it's not worth the hassle. Others participate from time to time, but choose to avoid confrontations like the one happening in this thread.
Some of the brightest voices have been silenced, and frankly, I miss them. Randygirl is long gone, Genevieve Lajoie hasn't spoken here for quite some time, nor has Kyra Graves. SillyGirl is quiet, and I sense Lola Jones is withdrawing as well. No matter how highly some male members may consider their mental prowess, these ladies are among the brightest minds posting on this board. As is Ms Femme, and from the brief glimpse we have had of her, so is Miss Anneliese. (I'm sure I've left out more than a few ladies in this list, but the point is clear and I trust they'll forgive me.)
Perhaps nobody knows what it's like to be recipient of cruelty more than Blissful. She has been whipped, she has been stoned, she has felt the wolves ripping the flesh from her bones. Yet she survives. In that she triumphs. And yes she is guilty of crimes against syntax, grammar, and persuasive rhetoric. But she continues to throw her thoughts out for us to reflect on, and make of it what we will, like Jackson Pollock splashing paint on a canvas. Some of us get bogged down in minutiae and mock her writing skills. Others are content to accept the beauty of her soul. I'm as guilty as anybody else of being a grammar cop, but Blissful won my respect a long time ago.
Likewise Ms Femme has my respect. Don't always agree with her, but she has my respect.
As does Miss Anneliese. When she arrived here, I was quick to challenge her attitude. I accused her of arrogance in her first thread and I accused her of insulting the board members she was addressing. I still stand by those remarks. But I also have seen her grow in the short time she has been here. A couple days ago, I challenged her attitude and questioned her actions in a thread which she later deleted for reasons to which she is entitled. She told me I was cruel. While I stand by my challenge, I have apologized to her personally for any pain caused by my words, and I repeat that apology here.
This forum should not be a playground for emotional pain. Nor should it be a playground where bullies drive out those who question their motives or attitudes.
What it should be is a playground for those of us who love joyful, uninhibited sex.
Without the ladies, it's just a boring bunch of jocks jerking off.
