Strip C, Massage P and Escort services banned from bringing in foreign temporary workers

Strip clubs, massage parlours and escort services can no longer bring foreign temporary workers into Canada, the federal government said on Wednesday.

In a joint announcement, Human Resources Minister Diane Finley in Toronto and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney in Calgary said foreign nationals brought in to work in sex trade-related businesses are particularly at risk of being exploited and abused.

Denying these businesses access to temporary foreign workers will help protect vulnerable individuals by keeping them out of these types of situation.

An RCMP report in 2010 called Human Trafficking in Canada highlighted a flourishing trade in sexual services, many of them operating out of Eastern European escort agencies based in Toronto and Montreal.

Women are shipped in and out of Canada by transnational prostitution rings, according to the report.

There are bad apples in every industry but they are focusing in on the sex industry. I've met a few Asian women here on a temporary permit and they were happy to be here and happy to be making the extra money to take back to their family.

It's the religious wing nuts like Bazerko sticking their nose into other people's lives.

I'm thinking local talent is usually better at adapting to local tastes than foreign talent is. Eventually the foreign talent also becomes localized, but it's usually a little awkward until that moment arrives. That being said, I've enjoyed the eastern european and asian talent in Montreal & Toronto. But in Ottawa, I prefer the local girls.

I have to say, I agree with this....think about it a second, it doesn't stop individuals from coming over and getting jobs, only organizations....(which is imo the main culprit in human trafficing). I mean, if olga kolienko applies for a visa, hops on a plane, then gets a job with dreamm i don't think they are banning that.....(though i'd have to read the law more closely to know for sure)

Notwithstanding all its flaws, if the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the obstacle to Harper and baserko oppressing Canadians with their right-wing beliefs, then we certainly do owe a debt of gratitude to Trudeau for putting that Charter in place to protect us.

There's nothing in the Charter of Rights that says anything about immigration policy. Harper is free to set immigration policy the way he likes.

I personally don't care if we are now not able to see the latest porn-star stripper from Porno Valley make their way up here to show their stage show anymore, although I'm sure they can still make their way up here maybe passing themselves off as circus performers or something.

MP's and escorts will not be affected. A lot of the girls from eastern europe and asia are often here on normal immigration channels, and they just happen to get into this line of work on their own. The adult industry visas are only meant for strip clubs.

This is the true target of this ruling and if it's true I completely agree with it.
With a reduced supply in Ontario and prices surely on the rise we will see more girls from the morally vacuous Kwee-bec find their way into Ontario,
