Wrong on both counts. While there continues to be research into the possible links between genetics and homosexuality, there is not yet any definitive scientific proof that one directly causes the other.

And my understanding is that Bruce Jenner is on record as saying he is not a homosexual, he is trans-gender. In other words, he is not sexually attracted to members of the male gender, but simply self-identifies as an individual of the female gender, and as such has taken steps to both physically and socially transform himself to more closely resemble that gender image.

Therein lies the rub...in this particular case, by human genetic standards, Bruce Jenner remains classified as a human male, who has now physically altered his male body and outward social appearance and behaviors to more closely resemble that of a human female.

Intellectually speaking, he has asserted that he has never been sexually attracted to men, only to women, and as such has indicated he still feels no desire whatsoever to engage in sexual relations with men post transition.

That said, his natural heterosexual attractions towards women, or genetically-speaking, towards members of the opposite sex, remain as they have always been.

So no, not lesbian.

But should he choose to pursue intellectual, emotional, and/or sexual relationships with women, many will likely incorrectly label him a homosexual of the female gender.

I suspect that for the vast majority, it is indeed a physiological precondition, outside of an individual's control. There is however another much smaller segment of the population who I suspect are nothing more than adopters of the lifestyle for the purposes of convenience, self-indulgence, and profitable gain.

Some men, and women, ARE born with more curiosity about sexual partners of their own gender, but engaging in any consentual sexual act means that the choice was not preordained by genetics.

Some men, (peace for example), are born less masculine than others, but that does not necessarily mean that they will be someone's bitch - it does, however, make that possibility more likely. Let's face it, many women like gay and effeminate men as friends and confidants, but they would never sleep with them; they have asexual status, like a Ken Doll, in that woman's perspective. These 'girly men' sometimes have sex with women, but usually with disastrous results, and they often pair up with a 'bird of the feather' guy friend who also has no game.

Some men become gay because they are clueless with respect to the unwritten rules of male interaction. They are the snitches, at a young age, or the boys who are indiscrete, being unable to keep a confidential piece of information quiet. These guys become gay because they are ostracized from the male circles of influence, so they have to bond with the females, and the other exiles.

Some guys become gay because they're physically, mentally, or emotionally lame. They have no strength or coordination, and the least amount of physical pain makes them cry. They 'wimp out' at dares, or tasks that require dedication. They have lame taste in music, compared to their friends, or they enjoy activities not deemed to be masculine. These guys usually become bottoms. In addition, there are those who are recruited, by pedophiles. These are usually small, naive kids, or post pubescent teens, with much curiosity, and little knowledge or experience. Although the issues involving transgender have been around for a long time, it is starting to get more exposure. Inevitably you won't be that confused.

I admit that I used to follow Thomas' way of thinking: "I dont even now why this is still being debated. It been long established that its a genetic predisposition. Jenner is a homosexual, thats a different debate altogether"

To sum it up, if a person feels he was born as a girl or vice versa, and is attracted to the opposite gender, then let it be. The problem is that our society is so set in its own way and is afraid of changes or facing the truth. Life is really short and do what makes you feel comfortable, happy and content.

TO me the issue is silly. Homosexuality exists in all most all of nature it is totally natural unless one is bi in which case is attracted to both sexes. Other than if one is bi, there is no choice involved. Sex if far deeper than just traits one can choose. Likewise Trans mostly hormones in the womb get screwed up between brain development and physical sex.

I am an extreme hetero, a 0 on the Kinsey scale. I hardly like to hug men much less be more intimate - yuk. I didn't choose to be this way. Being gay is no more a lifestyle than my straight lifestyle.

There is absolutely nothing in the bible wrong with being gay just as God created via nature, no more than premarital sex is wrong (after the bride price is paid to the father but have to wait until age 11/12 to marry. But this is a different issue.

You left out the end part of my quote Guido... *and hers to tell* I have no idea why she wants to tell everybody, she's never confided in me I suppose she feels she is doing some service for the transgendered community and or simply wants others to know of her journey. But I don't know her so I won't speculate any further. It's her journey, and her's to discuss. Just as it's her life to live, she has that right, just as the rest of us do.
So I'll continue to question those who have a need to *continually* question her choices, her sexuality, and the subject of homosexuality. Because I see this form of questioning as a guise, a passive aggressive way for them to slight gay/transgendered people, all while they proudly project their own hetrosexuality . You see, I believe people who are truly tolerant of others, who *claim* acceptance to those who are different, don't continually question the choices of gays and transgendered, nor do they jump around an escort review forum bashing, trashing, demeaning and making fun of some members But that's just how I see it.
