Made with Love

This is stealing to a new level

Tyra, I will make you a deal. I will re-design you a simple 3 page site {about, gallery, contact} with index disclaimer and proper gallery, for free with my name and link on the site of course for my portfolio.

Please PM and take this offer. Your site will be nicely designed, done right without errors, proper coding, tags, etc.

Your webmaster is a tool and needs to be dumped. Even if you don't take my offer, I know another person who is looking to build a portfolio for himself. I can refer you to him for a free site. Please just get rid of the webmaster you have now. That person is not helping you at all.

That's a really nice offer :)

He has done you a complete disservice and I really hope you did not pay him for that piece of crap job.

I have to disagree, she agreed to his price and he gave her a webpage. Whether it's a good one or not doesn't matter, he should still be paid.

Just like with an escort - if I'm not happy with the service I got, do you think I should be allowed to get my money back? Of course not, I can write a review and never return but I shouldn't get a refund.

I just want to point out a few things and hopefully we can all put this subject behind us (although I think this thread will live forever and never die).

To RileyDaniels: Thank you for starting this thread, I actually got more exposure and clients than I ever dreamed possible. Repeats already too.

To M.FemmeFatale : Thank you for coming here showing your services, support, your offer is really nice. But I would never want to change my website because its working amazing for me, and giving me more clients than I need at this time.

Tboy: You are the best :) Thank You for backing me up. It sounds like you know that this is a competitive world and everyone needs to do what they need to do to be successful. You remind me of the different car companies who are copying from each other all of the various power options. LOL. That side of the business will never change.

Gotta hand it to Tyra - she turned it around and has gotten this to be a plus not a minus for her.

He wasn't saying that you made anyone look like an idiot, he was saying your webmaster made you look like one based on the info he gave you.

You did you people's names as your keywords so you can't say you never used the names.

And yes - a thank you would have been nice, but if you put yourself in her shoes and saw that someone did this to you, and then it took a thread like this to get it removed, you may not be so quick to say thank you as well. You may have been still a bit put off by the person which is what I am guessing in here. But I was raised right and I would have said thank you or at least not posted back in the thread the way Riley did.

My suggestion, let it die. Don't even bother coming back to this thread and move on. I would re-think your webmaster but that is just me.

I only say this because I offer more then just photography and web service. I help ladies go indy, help them with ads, help agencies with business development etc, I do not ever give them the bad advice and the shit service you have gotten. I also "design" a real site not just add pics and text to blank page. Even if it is 1 page, it is a designed 1 page.

Also, having looked at your site, it does not validate with the W3 which is important. He has not even put proper meta tags on your site. What he has done is at the bottom is put the same type of "keywords" made them white so no one can see. This will not help you with Google searches at all. And his "keywords" are things like Kelly Rowland? jazz? whitbey? Not even the correct spelling. He has done you a complete disservice and I really hope you did not pay him for that piece of crap job.

At the risk of resurrecting the dead, I did see this article today, and thought this was the most appropriate thread to copy it for your review and comments.

The main points here:

The appeal court ruled that Google had engaged in misleading or deceptive conduct with four ads that appeared on its Google Australia website. The advertisers used the names of competitors as keywords to trigger their own ads appearing.
The court ruled this was likely to mislead people searching for information about those competitors. Google's "AdWords" system posts small text-only advertisements next to search results based on search keywords selected by the advertisers.
The section of the law that Google breached does not impose a fine. But the court ordered Google to make changes to prevent future breaches and to pay court costs to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which appealed the September ruling.

Basically this is a legal issue, as well as an ethical one. It actually can be illegal to use competitor's names to deliberately mislead and deceive.
