Canadians love Ottawa, but don't have nice things to say about Toronto.

That's the results of a new survey from the Association of Canadian Studies and the National Capital Commission.
Ottawa ranked the highest with 82% of the vote, but Victoria and Vancouver were not far behind, with 81% and 80% respectively.

Toronto, meanwhile, received top spot in the most hated category with 19%.
People in Alberta really hate the Ontario capital the most, with 30% saying they feel somewhat or very negative about the city.
Montreal was the second hated city, garnering 18% of the negative vote.

Victoria was the least hated city, with just 4% of survey respondents giving it a thumbs down.
Other cities on the survey included Halifax, Calgary, Quebec City and Edmonton.

The online Leger Marketing survey with 2,345 Canadians was conducted between Sept. 20 and Oct. 3. The margin of error is two percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

Frankly, I hate toronto too now....it's a crime riddled, gridlocked, toxic waste dump full of people with self-importance and who think too highly of themselves. This isn't to say everyone is like this, but so many that it seems that way.

It's so bad now that I begrudge going down to the city for business. The second I hit the 400 and 407 and see the brown air, I want to turn around and get the hell outta dodge.

Not to mention the previous mayor's efforts to penalize people who had the audacity to actually want to live there. I mean, extra tax on vehicles, extra tax on property transfers, etc etc etc

Not to mention the idiots in the construction scheduling dept where they see no problem with blocking off 75% of the northward roads all at once while closing the DVP for some run for the cure......

Not to mention that Toronto has more meter maids per capita than any other city (even Manhattan) and the Sun has shown they are just there to grab the easy ticket, not ticket those drivers impeding traffic......

I mean really, the last time I went down there it took me 2 hrs to get to 404 and 407. Then 2 hrs to get from 404 and 407 to bloor. WTF?????

While you may have better looking women, it's a shame most of them are snots......

For example: I'll talk to anyone at anytime. In the city? I get the oddest looks chatting with the pretty YL in line in front of me. Here? They smile and chat right back atcha.....why? because even if you are trying to pick them up they know you're not a rapist, murderer, cereal killer.....and even if you're not their "white knight in shining armor" or "Mr GQ wall street tycoon" they'll chat with you because hell, there's nothing better to do!

B.C sucks....yes the environment is Beautiful if you love rain 28 days out of 30 but the people OMG.......they range from Dope heads to Isolationist......

^^^^ why am I not surprised?

I'll tell you a couple of things, having worked all over North America in just about every major city, and spent weeks at a time in each, I can tell you with NO reservations that
1) The people in Alberta, in general, are some of the friendliest, and nicest people on the planet. For eg: a co-worker and I were at The Keg in Calgary. Our waitress was really REALLY hot. We chatted her up while she was serving us and since we had no where to go except back to the hotel, we hung out for a bit. She came over and asked if she could have her break with us. Now I've been in 100's if not 1000's of restaurants and would that happen in Toronto? HELL no.
2) Having worked in all these cities, and hung out in bars in each, you can kind of get a feel for people. In all those years on the road, and in Toronto, not once has a woman ever approached ME yet in BC, it not only happened once, but twice on two separate occasions in two different cities. Now this was a few years ago, maybe things have changed since the city has been invaded by people from asia, but I tell you, I had an awesome time whenever I was in BC simply because of the people there.....

That's not true, we also have lots of beautiful movie and TV stars.
