Let me think
I would bring
Guido, Madman, Papasmerf, OldGuyzer, Muckin, C.Dick
Amy, SillyGirl, Sarah, C.Dick's wife, Chanel, Jessica Rains ,,,I really want to bring every single lady that I've ever seen post on this board.
I'd supply wine, cheese platters, pulled pork sliders, Pizza, Fruit trays and a couple of kegs of beer.
You have some interesting selections,
Robintheboywonder, and some I find curious.
If you had invited "C Dick" or "C Dick's Wife", (I don't know either of them), the one who was invited could invite the other. By inviting them both, you give each the opportunity to attend with someone else, either by accident, or by design. Had you invited 'C Dick's Wife', but not C Dick, you would potentially have had the opportunity to socialize with her, in the absence of him, and you would have had one other male invitee, perhaps
Transient, or a different friend.
Who would voluntarily want to attend a party with
oldguyzer? From what I've read, he can't even purchase company from women who understand spoken English. If you had invited
papasmerf OR
oldguyzer, they could be each others' date, just like here.
I picked a mix of male guests whom I thought would foster an interesting discussion, in much the same way that
Bill Maher chooses his guests for his
Real Time show on HBO.
I've had virtually no contact with
Candyman here, but he provides me with amusement. I know that he and
Maurice Boscorelli share differing opinions on most subjects. I relate well to
Maurice Boscorelli in some ways, and in others, we are antagonists.
bolt.upright and
Jasper are friends to me.
Prick amuses me, and has indicated in forums that he would like me to interact with him more often. I was able to add my buddy
blackram, when
Candyman declined early enough to add an extra guest, before that person made alternate plans.
I don't know
Jessie James or
Melanie well, but I have the feeling that they know each other, and I've had positive interaction with both of them, so they have the opportunity to arrive as a 'group of four'.
From reading back pages of this forum, I've noticed only one person who has posted here, whom I've met in person, but she has not posted since I came here in mid October, and I believe she is 'retired', so it would be unlikely that she would RSVP the theoretical invitation.
The other Ladies I invited fell into three categories:
Miss Jessica Lee and
Silly Girl I knew previously from the red board.
Reverse, IfYouSeekAmy and
Melanie I've met only recently here, through the
Ask bobistheowl! thread. I've never had any interaction with
bridget_xo, here, or there, but I have read many of her posts. My chosen guest would be a
civilian, who knew none of the other invited guests.
Each of my twelve invited guests brings one person who would compliment the existing mix.
Miss Jessica Lee's choice of
Louis XIV allows Louis to assume the role originally offered to
Candyman.
The Ladies I chose are ones I would enjoy having conversation with, and debate, within a relatively small group setting. They are not a 'to do' list.
If I'm at a party, I like to entertain, and be entertained. I selected a group whom I would find likely to entertain me. The group is large enough that they CAN all interact with each other, at least part of the time.
If the group is too large, many of the guests will have no opportunities to interact with certain other guests. They just had 'tickets to the same event'.
Personally, I can't recall a house party that I've attended, where there were more than 26 people, in total, and the absence of more people would have had a negative effect. Most of the best house parties I've attended had twelve or fewer people in attendance.
