DAREDEVIL Eskil Ronningsbakken lives life on the edge - by performing a one-arm handstand 2,000ft above a fjord. The extreme artist performed the jaw-dropping gymnastic pose on Preikestolen, a rock above the Lysefjord in Norway. Battling bitter winds and a lethal drop, Eskil managed to hold the one handed pose despite exerting his lower and upper arm to extreme pressure. The Norwegian claims his latest feat is the world's first one-armed handstand at such a height.

Not to mention the giant sink hole just up the highway known as DC

I think 'experts' are saying one of the reasons we're seeing this happen more often, is because we've sucked so much ground water out of the earth, that the soil is compacting and collapsing underneath us.

increases in population means a greater strain on the infrastructure.

Roadways, water supplies, sanitary systems and power supplies are all affected.

Coastal cities are sinking at an alarming rate all over the world.

"Subsiding land is a bigger immediate problem for the world's coastal cities than sea level rise, say scientists.

In some parts of the globe, the ground is going down 10 times faster than the water is rising, with the causes very often being driven by human activity.

Decades of ground water extraction saw Tokyo descend two metres before the practice was stopped."

It's usually old sewer mains and water mains that collapse like this. So it wouldn't have much to do with natural ground water. Though I'm sure natural ground water is also being depleted, but it's doubtful that within the cities this is the reason.

I couldn't find the thread where we originally discussed the kid who survived a flight to Hawaii in the wheel well of a plane, but this is why he did it ...

The boy, who was hospitalized after the incident, told investigators he was trying to go to Africa to find his mother.

His mother, Ubah Mohamed Abdulle, said in a radio interview with the Voice of America that she had fled Somalia and was living in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. She said she was divorced from her husband, who lives in Santa Clara with their son and two of his siblings. "They were even told that I was dead, but they recently found out that I was alive," she told the broadcast service in a report published on Friday.

You can't make this shit up.

A guy nicknamed 'Skull Cracker' escaped prison on Saturday - He was serving 13 life sentences for violent bank robberies...

He has escaped before (twice) and on both occasions staged more violent robberies and was caught and sent back to prison.....

Today they caught him again while staging another robbery with a machine gun!..

So how did he escape, must be some sort of evil genius right? - Not so much, he just didn't bother going back after having a few hours UNESCORTED LEAVE!....

77-year-old Florida man with walker accused of bank robbery

Hmmmmmm

A 77-year-old Florida man using a walker was arrested last week for allegedly robbing a bank using a pocketknife.
Russell Cooper demanded $130 from a PNC Bank in Boynton Beach, Fla., on Friday, May 2, according to a Boynton Beach Police Department police report obtained by USA TODAY Network.

Cooper was at the bank to ask a manager why he couldn't access his bank account. The manager told him his account had been closed due to "the consistent lack of funds," the police report said.

Cooper became "agitated," walked around the bank manager's desk and pulled out a pocketknife, the report said.

He then ordered the manager to escort him to a bank teller window to get the money. Once the $130 was given to him, Cooper told the manager he was taking him as a hostage and threatened to "slit his throat," according to the report.

When police arrived, the manager was able to escape from Cooper.

To one police officer, Cooper allegedly held up a pocketknife and said, "I'm not dropping it. I'm going stick it in your (expletive) gut," according to authorities.

Cooper, holding the knife, continued to walk toward police officers and was stopped with a Taser, the report said.

Cooper faces armed robbery and kidnapping charges, and was being held in Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, the Sun-Sentinel in Palm Beach County reports.

Man confesses to killing his wife and former lover on Turkish dating show

When it comes to qualities one is looking for in a potential mate, killing your former spouse is a pretty big red flag.

During a taping of Istanbul’s “Luck of the Draw” dating show, Sefer Calinak, 62, revealed that he murdered his ex-wife and former lover.

“I’m an honest person looking for a new wife,” he told the show. Calinak was sent to prison twice for the killings, but was released before completing his sentences under a government amnesty.

He explained that he killed his first wife because her behavior “irritated” him and that he murdered his former lover because he was convinced she was only after his money.

In the video, Calinak admits to the host that he had killed his wife and the host is simply appalled. She questions him as to why he did it, and seemingly emotionless, Calinak responds with justifications. “Well, that’s my life. It is what it is,” he says, as the host tries to collect herself after hearing his shocking confession.

She scolds him while asking why he did it, telling him there is no excuse for what he did. “It was all because of jealousy,” he says. “I did what I had to do.”

According to The Daily Mail, Calinak married his first wife Fadime at 17, when a short time later his nephew, who also wanted to marry Fadime began to come to their village. He said he was jealous so he killed her. Later, he entered into an affair with another woman who vowed to leave her husband for Calinak, but never did. According to Calinak, he said, “I killed her after she attempted to kill me. She was accidentally killed when I swung the axe.”
