It's not who you eat, it's how you prepare them.
Researchers have found evidence a cannibalistic tribe that lived in Mexico more than 2,500 years ago liked to season its human meals with chilli peppers and brightly coloured spices that stained the victims' bones.
The evidence comes from a team that studied the remains of 18 men, women and children in the ancient community of Tlatelcomila — near Mexico City.
The bones, chipped with what appeared to be cutting tools, hinted at evidence of cannibalism. When the researchers looked closer to find out why the bones were tinted red and yellow, they found evidence of a meticulous recipe that included smothering the meat in chilli spices.
The preparation method — some were grilled while others boiled — resulted in slightly different colours on the bones.
The study — called Savoury Recipes and the Colour of the Tlatelcomila Human Bones — was published in the journal Archaeometry.

CALGARY -- The Lord works in mysterious ways -- and apparently, He has a pretty ironic sense of humour too.
You have to smile, when the greatest fossil discovery in recent Calgary history comes at the end of a backhoe operated by a man known as the greatest promotor of creationism in Alberta.
His name is Edgar Nernberg, and when he's not sitting on the board of directors of Big Valley's Creationist Museum or actively lobbying for the inclusion of creationism in Alberta's school curriculum, Nernberg operates a backhoe in Calgary.
It was in the seat of that machine that Nernberg made the discovery being hailed by scientists in Alberta as one of the most important fossil finds in decades, helping to solve an evolutionary puzzle dating back 60 million years.
Not that Nernberg is buying that date for a second: to him, the five perfectly preserved fossil fish, found while excavating a basement in northwest Calgary, are just more proof of a world created by God only a few thousand years ago.

Approximately 600 feral horses live in the area and whilst no children have been hurt yet, school staff are routinely forced to hold students inside while they chase horses away, sometimes using an air horn.

I've encountered these horses many times while driving in the Penticton area. The stallions and older mares are very aggressive about protecting the herd, so I think those school kids are in real danger.
