Camaro lands ON TOP of Subaru in Maryville liquor store parking lot freak accident | Daily Mail Online
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...arking-lot-freak-accident-injured-no-one.html

"A freak accident in a Tennessee liquor store parking lot created the bizarre vehicular mashup of a Camaro perched perfectly atop a Subaru wagon.

The perplexing scene occurred in Maryville and an employee at Foothills Wines and Spirits watched the spectacle unfold Wednesday evening.

'He literally went airborne, and landed on top of that Subaru,' Bob Jones told the Daily Times.

The unnamed young man at the wheel of the red Camaro told Jones he'd become momentarily lightheaded while driving by the plaza."

Hmmmmmm Hmm, let's see the young man goes dizzy while driving near a liquor store? Only in Tennessee I guess. :slap:

I can't believe this reply happened, but then again,I can't believe some guy would call himself macho man, lol!!

I'm sick of people shitting on specific breeds.A dog is a dog, they all can bite!! The guy was a fucking ass and should be jailed and banned from EVER owning an animal period! The dogs who were trained by this fuck up and acted on his command and they are the ones who pay the ultimate price, just so very very wrong.
Sorry to go on, but I'm very passionate about pits and have been around them for years as has my sister, a veterinarian, and neither of us has EVER had a problem with them. They are lovely, loving, intelligent dogs who are easily trained and obey readily. Put ANY dog in the wrong hands and it'll become problematic, they all can bite!! I'm educated enough about dogs I feel to talk about them and please don't mention a pit's lock jaw, because thats crap and a wives tale, no such thing. There are many dogs, stronger, that aren't considered dangerous yet the pit, time and time again is blamed for being a "dangerous" dog. The African mastiff, the Boerboel, has a bite force stronger than a lions, chew on that!

My most dangerous situation was when I was held at knife point with another escort by a guy who felt he should get to "do" what he wanted as many times as he wanted. At that time I worked for an agency and that owner didn't want the police involved. We were left to handle the situation ourselves. The police ended up coming, we believe hotel security called them.Another reason I prefer being independent. No matter where you work or for who, at some point we all and unfortunately meet an ass or two......excuse the pun:)

Iconic 1951 photo American Girl in Italy gets Toronto twist | Toronto & GTA | Ne
TORONTO - When one is looking to recreate an iconic 1950s photo that has long ignited debate about sexism and the freedom of a young gal travelling in post-war Europe, it helps to have connections.

And connections is exactly what three Toronto restaurateurs used when they asked Ninalee Craig, 87, to come to their Italian eatery, Nodo, Saturday to do a “softer” version of American Girl in Italy, a photo shot in 1951 by the late Ruth Orkin and which has hung in the restaurant since it opened a year ago.

The photo shows a 23-year-old Craig — a visiting American — walking past a group of staring and ogling Italian men on the sidewalk of a city square in Florence.

One man sits on a parked scooter, sporting a roguish smile as he lasers a predatory stare in Craig’s direction; another, seated at a bistro table, cranes his neck to catch a glimpse of Craig as she passes; another grabs his crotch as he whistles.

The photo has long been a topic of debate: Is this woman being victimized by a group of lecherous men, or is she a young and confident female traveller enjoying the attention?

For Craig, it has always been the latter.

“At no moment did I feel uncomfortable. It was 10:30 in the morning and I was walking on the street, I was an object of curiosity. I was a woman, alone, and I was unusually tall ... which was unusual in 1951, particularly in Italy,” said Craig, who also explained it was not uncommon — in that time and place — for men to “touch themselves a little bit below the belt in order to assure themselves ... In no way was it considered obscene.”

Craig insists the photo wasn’t staged.

She moved to Toronto with her late husband in 1973. Nodo’s owners got in touch with her through a friend who visits the restaurant.

“A group of friends thought it would be really fun to use this restaurant ... to celebrate American Girl in Italy,” she said.

Nodo owner Vito Tomasicchio said Saturday’s shoot wasn’t so much an effort to re-enact the moment, but to capture a “softer” version of the original, where family members, young and old, would take the place of the men in Florence.

India village council orders rape of two sisters

The rights group Amnesty International has called on Indian authorities to ensure the safety of two young women after their local village council ordered them to be raped and paraded naked after their brother eloped with a married woman.

The unelected all-male village council in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, on July 30 ordered that a woman, 23, and her sister, 15, be raped and paraded naked with their faces blackened after their brother ran away with a woman from the village's dominant Jat caste.

The sisters and their family, from the underprivileged Dalit caste, have since fled the village and are hiding in New Delhi.

Earlier this month, the older sister filed a petition before India's Supreme Court seeking protection for her family so they can return to their home.

On August 18, the Supreme Court ordered Uttar Pradesh authorities to reply to the petition by September 15.

But one of their brothers told Amnesty: "After we went to the Supreme Court, the villagers are even more aggressive. In the panchayat [council], the Jat decision is final. They don't listen to us. The police don't listen to us. The police said anyone can be murdered now," he said.

Amnesty organised a petition calling for authorities in Uttar Pradesh to ensure the family's safety, to investigate the ruling passed by the council to rape the sisters and prosecute those who ordered it, and to ensure the safety of the woman from the Jat caste family.

The petition so far has collected more than 90,000 signatures.

Several Indian provinces are notorious for village councils (locally called khap panchayats) that have no legal sanction, but yet adjudicate over personal matters.

Scores of boys and girls have died in "honour killings" allegedly endorsed by such councils for defying caste and cultural restrictions.

This past Saturday, an entire apartment building in Shanghai collapsed. To be fair, the building was under construction and thus unoccupied, but it’s still a minor miracle that there was only one fatality.

Sounds like there was a problem with some nearby flood prevention walls at the Dianpu River, but there’s no hard evidence as to why this huge building simply fell over. Anyway, here are some sweet pictures of the architectural carnage. [Cellar.org via Twitter]

(CNN)It started with police going to the wrong house. It ended with a homeowner, an officer and a dog shot.

DeKalb County police were responding to a 911 call about a suspicious person Monday night, the Atlanta-area police department said.

But the caller didn't give an address for the house where the suspicious person was seen, county public safety director Cedric Alexander said. Instead, the caller described it as a gray-and-brick home.

So three officers went to a house that matched that description near the same intersection, Alexander said. He said they went to the back of a home where they thought a burglary might be occurring.

"Once there at the rear of the residence, they noticed that the screen door was unlocked, and the back door was unlocked," he said.
Alexander said the officers did identify themselves.

"Shortly after that, within a matter of moments, gunfire took place," he said. "During this gunfire, a dog was shot and killed inside a residence."
The homeowner and a DeKalb police officer were both shot in the leg.

"The officer is critical. He lost a lot of blood," Alexander said. "The homeowner, who was struck in the leg, is also at the hospital as well."

The police chief said details about how the shooting broke out are under investigation. He said he could not confirm whether one or multiple officers fired shots.
"A lot has yet to be determined here as to what and when shots were fired -- how the officer received injuries, how the homeowner received injuries," Alexander said.

"But we did respond to the wrong resident here tonight. And then these other circumstances unfolded."

The police chief said he decided to turn the case over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to ensure an independent probe.

He said all three of the officers who were at the scene will be placed on administrative leave.
