It's the nature of the beast of government and politicians. It doesn't matter any more who gets voted in. Look at the budget that went through here in the US. The people voted in Republicans on the hope that they would bring the deficit under some kind of control.....now they've passed a budget that would be more in line with the thinking of democrats. Lot's of spending to get votes, nothing to actually fix any issues. They do what they feel they have to do to get votes and to get elected rather than doing what is needed to help the country. There's no way any of them are going to do something they know is right when they know that anything that causes even a temporary hardship to the people will get them voted out.
This is why the founders wanted to limit the power and size of government. It was good at first, but then things started moving left, towards larger government with a more entrenched bureaucracy. They missed out on limiting terms from the start. Now we basically have these long term politicians who act like the nobles of the realm and lord over us little peasants. Look at how any of them treat the "common man". They know better. They know what's best for us. They'll kiss babies and asses and then go do what they want in office. They'll enact laws and give themselves and their staffs exemptions from those laws. They'll tweak other laws to give passes to their voting blocs. It's all blatant as hell too, but the people are dumb enough to just keep voting for the same assholes and expecting anything to change.
