Art Mann said:Bob, how is it a colorful character like yourself lacks an avatar?

bobistheowl said:I didn't expect you to have ever seen A Clockwork Orange; the inside joke was for Art Mann.

oldguyzer said:Alas, you young whippersnapper, you're waaay wrong. I read the book before the movie release (the book was named to the 100 Best English Novels by Time magazine in 2005). I saw Clockwork Orange in its original theatrical release in England, and have rewatched it probably two dozen times since then. As a Kubrick fan, and as a Burgess fan, I enjoyed the movie. Also, the sound track, which you probably know from Walter/Wendy Carlos, is quite clever early electronic, setting a standard for others to follow. Righty-right Billyboy?
bobistheowl said:In that case, your comment "And your life was forever changed" is so off target that it didn't even hit the wall. At the point in the film where the screen cap was made for the avatar, Alex' life hasn't yet been changed. Then it's changed. Then it's changed back. The ending of the film takes place before the narration at the beginning. That's why all of the narration in in the past tense. He's telling the story to his new Droogs, after he's been released from the hospital, where he is recuperating at the end of the film. The audio voice-overs take place in the present, but all of the video and dialog is in flashback. Most people get that by the fifth viewing, if not sooner.

oldguyzer said:My comment had absolutely nothing to do with Clockwork Orange, so your basic premise is faulty.
JessieJames said:What do you mean it`s not Sunday, I am all pumped up about the Walking Dead episode that is suppose to be on Sunday.

bobistheowl said:I'm not going to answer this one, because it's not punctuated with a question mark.

The cute one said:Don't sweat the small stuff.
bobistheowl said:That's why the joke was for Art Mann, (who doesn't need the explanation), and why it went over your head, as intended.
bobistheowl said:I understand that you feel threatened by my having diagnosed Anto's mumps without first referring him to a real former doctor. It would probably be a good idea if you sucked that up.
