Josey, 39, has had 13 complaints made against him over his career, but Evers said that it is hard to quantify whether that is a lot, a little or average. He said it is not entirely unusual for officers who have frequent contact with people in rougher neighborhoods to have complaints made against them.

He said the 13 complaints against Josey range from verbal abuse to physical abuse.

"It's hard to decide if that's a lot or a little," Evers said. "Most were unfounded or not sustained."

The title of this thread makes for good headlines but the reality is that where this officer works this could be a common theme.

Best to just stick to the facts of this case.

I would still like to see any footage of what happened prior to the vid that we saw. Or hear his side of the events.

Until then I'm sitting on the fence.

the other complaints subject is totally sensationalistic....considering later in the story the author can't say that's a lot, a little, or because he works in a rough neighbourhood.....

Once again, that woman is 40 yrs old? you'd think she would know better than to go poking around in police business......

As bosco said, and I agree, I'd like to hear his side of the story...if she said "fuck off nigga" or "fuckin pigs" then yeah, she deserved a bit of a smack.....and no, I don't say that just because she's a woman, if it was a guy I'd say the same thing.....

Until I hear otherwise, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon of people saying the cop should be fired.......

Discipline? maybe...fired? nope.......

People on the street for a parade, what the fuck are they thinking?
We can't have this, it's time we banned groups of more than 4 people congregating in a public space.
Stay at home, people! :-Cool/"

Definitely!
As well, no demonstrations. We have to learn to accept the status quo. :wink2:

We all do things we later regret at one time or another. I think this cop will live to regret this moment in his life.

I remember my father telling me how the Irish hated the Italians when we first came over. We learned quickly to pay the cops off to avoid the beat downs. Uncle Al was a different case yupppp...God rest his soul!:-Cool/"

Radar and Cops are becoming ridiculous!

Radar and Cops are becoming ridiculous!

I almost hit a cop who jumped out to pull over the car behind me last night after dark.

I was driving east bound on Wilson. I had just crossed Weston Rd. and was half way to Jane. I was in the left lane when from behind a sign on the median in the middle of the road jumps out an officer, walks across the road forcing me to slam on my brakes. To be honest I thought he was pulling me over but instead he went into the far lane and nabbed the dude 2 cars behind me.

First off it was rush hour and we were all in a cluster fuck of steel so how he picked off this one dude I have no idea but to risk the rest of us having an accident or rolling over him and then really having a problem, I think they are carrying this ticketing shit way too far!:grrrrrr:

Vents over, anyone else have any juicy ticket or cop stories?

A similar story happened to me driving Eastbound on Lawrence just before Bathurst. He popped out from the bus shelter and almost ran him over. They will do anything to meet their quota.

In case anyone has forgotten, it's now the Christmas season. There will be more radar and ride programs everywhere!

It's all about quotas and fishing holes now. Honestly, if you think about it how fast can one go during rush hour. 10 maybe 15 over and they are very happy to ticket us, earn the overtime during court cases and hand the insurances a pass to raise our rates. I'm with you Guid, I call bullshit on them!

It's not quotas, its the overtime in court these pricks are after. They are able to pick off individual cars because of the laser's precision unlike the old radar guns.

I still remember the good old days when you could negotiate at the side of the road. Now it's always a court appearance.

You hit the nail on the head Sheik. It's big bucks for the officer and this system needs to be changed. It's really not fair or for the good of the public.

Turn the Highway into the Autobahn......
Nobody does the speed limit anyways.....

Keep the outer lane for people to go over 140 kmp....
Then we can get rid of all those who think they are great drivers....

This is 100% correct!!

There's a (stupid) cop at my gym who I sometimes work out with and who brags about how much $$$$ he makes off his court time.

I got another ticket a few weeks ago at the Yonge & Harbour intersection. Its a really fucking stupid traffic law, you cant turn left onto Yonge st. from Harbour st. if you're not in the far left lane (see pics).

Of course its a money making scam. The cop took just 1 minute to write out my ticket, when it usually takes them more then 5 minutes or so. Clearly he was trying to write as many tickets as possible

The green line means you're okay to turn left. The lane with the red line means its illegal to turn left
