I'd love to slap that smug smile off their faces!! It's not just dentists.Ted Nugent and kendall jones are two other well known smug, compassionless, trophy hunters who get a thrill with a kill. The person in the above pictures, as many other of these turds do, show no respect for the animal they've needlessly slaughtered. It is those with money that do this because it costs, simple.but poverty shouldn't be a reason for allowing it, nor should it be an excuse for forgiving it. Killing an animal, or anything for that matter, for fun, is wrong and an action of someone missing an important human factor.

Correct it wasn't a hunt. This was a shooting gallery. Maybe I am digging too much into it, but when they study people who are serial killers almost all of them share a few traits including having been cruel to animals.
To me a person wanting to shoot an animal simply for the sheer pleasure of shooting it is a form of cruelty. I'm not saying they are serial killers, but I have a feeling they have some serious underlying issues.

--You make a point but most of the self proclaimed "conservationists" aren't preserving the habitat to save nature, or to nurture nature, they're saving it so they can continue with their "sport", and here in lies the problem that many have. *Hunting for sport*. Even people like myself will side with hunters who hunt for food, to provide for their families and lively hood, should that be all they have. But anyone who simply hunts for the thrill of a kill, well, that is what irks and baffles many. It's hard to understand how anyone sane can enjoy killing. When you speak to hunting as a way to limit populations, this irks me because animals over populate because of our fucking with nature, loss of habitat(we destroy that), demise of their predators (we over hunt and through polluting and other misuses, cause the demise of many animals), and then we blame them for over population and that gives some a reason to hunt and the cycle continues. Instead of realizing our misuses, instead of correcting them, we look for another species to blame, another to hunt.....which brings me to your next statement...

You make some very good points and I'm glad to hear you do support hunting when it's for food. It can also be for sport and at the same time food like the hunters here that go for Moose and deer during the appropriate season.

(CNN)Not far from Denver's abandoned Stapleton International Airport sits what's probably the saddest, most macabre collection of property owned by the U.S. government.
Officially, it's called the National Wildlife Property Repository.
In reality, it holds thousands of confiscated animal items that Americans and others have tried to illegally import into the United States.
There's shelf after shelf of tiger heads, and even a stuffed tiger fetus.
There are tons of crushed ivory, bizarre and worthless medicines made from illegally poached and imported animals.
There are dozens of ivory horns from elephants. And there are horns from the endangered black rhino.
The most trafficked mammal you've never heard of
The repository stores the items for teaching and educational purposes, and it destroys anything beyond that. Most of what is confiscated is destroyed.
All the items in the repository are no longer part of any investigation or prosecution.

Coleen Schaefer, the superintendent, said new items arrive every day and the packed warehouse holds only a fraction of all the items that have been confiscated.

In south Florida, an antiques dealer named Christopher Hayes has recently pleaded guilty to selling endangered black rhino horns to clients across the nation and even overseas.
CNN caught up with him in West Palm Beach, Florida, after he was sentenced to three years in federal prison.
In court, he told the judge he had made a "terrible mistake."
As he left, a friend held up a white shirt in front of his face, in an attempt to shield his identity from our cameras.
"It doesn't matter," Hayes said when asked by CNN to explain why he was selling horns.
The government said Hayes sold 19 pounds of rare and endangered black rhino horns worth about $400,000. As part of his plea agreement, he said he would pay the government a $1.5 million fine.

- Dr. Seski has been pictured online with a series of dead animals including elephants, hippos, zebras, ostriches, and water buffalo
- Seski is a bow hunter which means he kills animals with a bow and arrow instead of a rifle

Heard this on the news today: They've suspended hunting and are asking for donations to make up for the loss of income. Apparently the fees paid by the hunters are what supports their conservation efforts, and if it wasn't for the hunters, there wouldn't be any lions left.

-well it's fine to be an advocate and I appreciate your points and opinion but to compare the two is a stretch, imo. I certainly don't think of anti trophy hunting advocates as fanatics. They are people who detest killing for no reason. I take the changes to the laws concerning my profession seriously and understand fully their impacts yet they aren't going to cause extinction, nor is anyone being hunted because of them, nor can anyone fork over tens of thousands of dollars to kill one and then have it called conservation.
If you are against people going into other countries and controlling how they live then I'd think you'd be against trophy hunters and those running those types pf 'safaris" . It is these people that are foreigners not locals, they may hire locals, but the hunters are always visitors as are those running the"shows". It is them fooling the locals into thinking that using their resources this way as a way of sustaining the local wildlife and improving their communities, which is bullshit and a no win situation.
