Continuing on with my hate of everyone. This one made me hate this race more than any other. I remember this when it first came out and it gave me nightmares for weeks. I know Chinese people trust no one, not even themselves, but they have to be the most purposely non involved people in the world. Good luck to GTA police who try to get witness from the triad crimes on Spadina/China Town. Fucked up.

I remember reading up on this when it first happened. Many Chinese citizens are afraid to help or get involved in situations like this because they often end up being accused of a crime and thrown in jail, or forced to pay for the care of the person they rescue.

And that is the society to blame or rather, the communist government and dictatorship that ran that country for so long. Ai Weiwei, an astounding contemporary artist was imprisoned for 81 days in 2011 with not a trace of his whereabouts and when he was finally returned, his views against the government were never aired again and his protests were silenced.

Even the westernized chinese, still live in fear. I have had quite a number in employ as well as southeast asians, and this attitude does not sit well with me, particularly in an agile corporate environment.

A friends mother on mainland China during WWII was moving from village to village with others as they were getting bombed out and infiltrated by Japanese. She had a pet dog and one day when she was looking for it, her grandmother told her the others had taken it and slaughtered it for food. I can understand out of necessity, but it was a shitty thing to do to a young girl during that time.

it's one thing to kill and eat something, it's another to torment and torture it needlessly. Death is never pleasant, but it can be quick.

Thanks Danny, but that subject is a sore spot for me, I've met people who've witnessed that brutal cruelty in China and other parts of Asia, and who work hard to bring change. so making light of it gets my hackles up. Candyman is himself, easy to ignore though

I cannot watch any of the footage. I'm a pet owner and can't imagine treating animals the way they do. Much like the opening video, they treat each other similar. I have zero time for them.

I couldn't watch anymore either. I understand where the need to eat cats and dogs came from and I do not condemn those people who still have to eat them out of necessity. But there is no excuse for treating them so brutally.
