Difficulty in determining rates....

As I slowly put my self, my site, and marketing together for my official launch, I am seriously struggling with determining my rates. I think that is because I am not a full, nor even a part time sex worker. I believe I am slightly a unique breed in this industry, or at least on the very small size of the market base.

Standard rules of business would call for calculating expenses, required/desired income level and the divide that by the amount of clients you want to see in a day/week/month to obtain your quota. However, that does not apply to me either. As I sustain my financial independence via my outside business, there is no need to meet a certain quota other then to ensure I cover expenses.

I do not want to under value myself. I am not looking for a daily dates, I would be happy sexually with a couple a week, but if I don't see a gentlemen for days, weeks or even months, the only issue I will have is battery replacement in my toys.

Sexual experiences for me would ideally be a minimum of 2 hours. I would prefer longer as well as dinner dates or drinks out and dessert in type dates. I have no issue with obtaining a hotel to host from in any city so long as it is worth while. Worth while meaning considerations for my travel time, etc. I don't want to raise rates per location as I would simply prefer a longer date be arranged. I would only book one appointment so the hotel would only be used for that date. This would have to be considered in the expenses aspect as I can not split the expense over multiple client bookings.

I would like to offer the following:

  1. 2 hour date basically entailing what a standard hour would be, just hopefully more time for MSOG, MPOS, and lots of foreplay
  2. 3 hours would be drinks added with more time for companionship and conversation as well as the above
  3. 4-5 hour dinner date with "dessert" back at the hotel.

Naturally, I just thought $250x2=$500. Seems so simple. However, should I consider something slightly higher to compensate for the individual hotel expense? Should I just offer outcalls? Or only outcalls for 1 hour appointments? I have had a few gentlemen comment on frequency of hour bookings and therefore suggest that I may lose out on many potential clients. However again, a hour really is just not long enough for me. I don't think that will work for what I am looking to get out of being a sex worker.

I don't want to under cut my fellow ladies in lust. I don't want to over price myself that I never have sex again. I never thought this would be so difficult. I don't just want to go with what everyone else charges either as I feel there needs to be some personal "ends" that justify the need for the donation amount and that is different for everyone.

Ladies, any help would be appreciated. How did you determine your donation amount? Gentlemen, how do rates play into your choice of companion?

What are of town do you live?

Most hobbyists have their budget set at $300 man. I think $500 is too steep but then again only MPOV. Out calls could work.

Good luck.

I've often paid for multiple hours, even at basic hour multiples, but there's no repeats unless the experience is great return on investment. That's hard to get with most people. Try the market at whatever rate you think you are worth...the market will let you know quickly if you are under or over valued.

That kind of formula doesn't apply to escorts. Your value isn't based on what you need, it's determined by how much people are willing to pay.
You're right that it's tough to come up with a number, but look at similar escorts and what they ask. It doesn't matter if they see one client per week or 5 each day, they ask the same rate.

Good luck!

I don't agree, I think most max out at $250. Why pay more when there are many hot ladies at this price. Jasper is correct in the phrase you will quickly find out what people are willing to pay. I for one also have trouble for a 2 hour minimum for a lady I've never met. What if there is no chemistry, now I'm out 500 and don't want to really stay two hours, not saying this would be the case with you but one never really knows.

I think it's difficult to start out at an above average rate. Some girls have a well established track record of good service, and can command higher prices and guys will be willing to pay them (although some do have a strict upper limit).
For someone just starting? Not so much. You may go for days without bookings if you price yourself out of the market.

Gentlemen, how do rates play into your choice of companion?

I have an upper limit. Above that, I don't even consider the girl, even if her services are reported as phenomenal.
OTOH, low rates (meaning $200 or less.. particularly promo rates that are sometimes offered by agencies) make me much more likely to at least consider seeing a girl I might not normally choose.

Gentlemen, how do rates play into your choice of companion?

As someone already noted most men have an upper limit and that includes myself. I learned long ago that paying what I thought a premium price was for time with an escort did not work out for me. A high price is no guarantee of a great time despite what the photos and reviews will have you believe. The 2 hour date idea you have does seem like a premium type service and will definitely narrow the field when it comes to men.

I think in the end your market will tell you what is fair. There are many instances of escorts pricing themselves at the rate they expect then through demand or lack thereof, they reduce or increase them based on the reaction to those rates.

I wanted to reply to this personally as I completely understand your point. However, my screening process will most likely take care of chemistry issues as that is a concern for me as well. I would much rather forfiet all the fee back to the client then have the both of us go through the motions. I am far to old in my young years to go through with things for the sake of saving face. Also adding to that, I do not require the donation to sustain a life style, therefore this type of YMMV date is not something I plan on putting up with to be honest. I don't have the time to waste on YMMV.

So for example, DFK is a must for me. I will not have a date with someone I can not openly kiss to my hearts content. Therefore, I will not be seeing any gentlemen who smoke. I just can't and won't do it.

I will put those on my site of course, but I don't know exactly how to express the importance of finding that chemistry before the date happens and how it will be handled if we find on our first date that we were mistaken on that chemistry if that should happen.

I understand this and yet I can not seem to figure out how to do go about regular 1 hour appointments. I won't see 2 clients/lovers on the same day. I probably won't see 2 clients/lovers in the same week. I have much to busy of a mainstream schedule to even be able to accommodate that. So if I am requested in downtown Toronto where hotels can run pretty high, and travel to and from the city takes an hour one way, add in other expenses of hair/nails/attire, supplies required, beverages offered, etc. it seems impossible to cover expenses even at a normal rate of $250/hr. That is not adding in advertising, phone, website/pictures that lead to obtaining said client/lover. I also have to state that an hour would seem a little lacking in my opinion time wise. I would really prefer longer engagements because I want more then just an quickie. Which to me, an hour is a quickie.

So while it would seem to be a premium type service, the reality is that is it not. It is what is practical. I am finding it difficult to express that and I think you are right. If I just label out my rates, starting at 2 hours, the natural drawn conclusion will be the same for others as it was for you.

I have another conundrum of sorts as well. I have tickets to a musical in October. I thought it would be nice to share with a gentlemen on a extended date. I wouldn't include the cost of tickets as that would be my treat, and yet I have no idea how I would offer this.

I am not entering into this industry for the purpose of money. More so the purpose of mutual companionship with some like minded gentlemen. I am not worried about low demand for my services, but I am looking for some middle ground between myself and my gentlemen callers. I guess I am offering more of private mistress type services without the premium since I don't need my house, my car and my bills paid by a benefactor.

I am sure I will figure it out. I just want to be fair to gentlemen who call me and I want to be compensated fairly at that same time.

Thank you to those who have responded. It has been helpful. I would really love to hear from some ladies as well. PM plz if you prefer.

What may work for you is to offer outcalls only until you find the 2-3 gentlemen you click with who will want extended time with you and for you to justify getting a room for. Once you find them and they find you, you won't even need to advertise much if at all. Make sure you keep your schedule updated on your private site if possible and contribute once in a while on the boards so that members know you are still around.

The women I know of who prefer multiple hour engagements, encourage them by dropping the rate per hour when adding additional hours, not increasing the rate. I'm sure you will find what works for you given enough time.

No matter what feedback you get publicly from the men, you will also receive different feedback privately...sometimes even from the same person hehe.

If you are already in business, you understand the concepts of market pricing.
As well as supply and demand.

You may decide you need an income of 100K per year and only want to work at it 2 days per week for 3 hours a day.

You also want every 4th week off. That means you are working in a 13 period year.

So at 18 hours per period or 234 working hours per year. That means you need to make just over 427 dollars per hour.

Now you decide that an Ice Cream truck is the key to success so you buy one at a cost of 1500 dollars per period.......Supplies will cost you 1000 dollars per period making your fixed costs 2500 dollars per period..................Figure 200 per period for insurance and 300 dollars per period for fuel. Toss in 250 dollars per period for unexpected costs. Now you are at 3250 dollars per period for you costs. At 18 hours per period you need to get n additional 181 dollars or so per hour.

427 dollars plus 181 brings you needs to 608 dollars per hour.

Let us figure you sell 10 cones per hours you need to get $60.80 plus tax for each cone...........But you competition sells the same cone for $1.50.

You have better have one hell of a marketing plan........which also raises your fixed costs.

That was a heck of a sharp analysis theory :YMAPPLAUSE:

Do it whatever your most comfortable with. If you are good at what you do word of mouth will spread to respected gentlemen.

I hope we managed to answer some questions. At the very least if she decides to buy and ice cream truck we've covered that base for her.
