Made with Love

Ladies - Stand up and give thanks to HUBGFE. The "C" word is no more.........

When another Woman PM's me and tells me they expected me to agree with them and is angry I didn't,
well we get into another word CENSORSHIP.

Sorry, I have my opinion and I don't give a damn if your a woman and you figure I should stick with the
Sister Hood, I say what I want, not what somebody else wants me to say.

Comments about me just trying to "get the men on my side" are childish and immature.
I don't voice my opinion to gain business, I don't need to. Thank you.

Someone also PMed me and accused me of having a hidden agenda. Honestly, I do not have one and was just voicing my concerns regarding past issues addressed on this board. Meanwhile I do appreciate and respect others' opinions even though I may not agree with some of them.

I assume they banned camera as she take pictures

I would hate to think anyone is so thin skinned as to object to words.

I agree with you papa I never figured out why **** was offensive and pussy or cunny wasn't. Sort like cock and dick or tits and boobs. Parts is parts.

It was good enough for James Joyce, Henry Miller, Samuel Beckett and DH Lawrence but apparently so offensive that those of us with tender sensibilities must be protected from it's use on an adult review board. Odd thing to worry about in this day and age.

Don't get me wrong. I find the word to be one of the most offensive words ever.

However, censorship empowers the words and phrases they seek to ban.

Agree in general but I may be a little different then. I don't find any word in itself to be offensive. What I find offensive would be the spite and hate the user may be trying to invoke. As you correctly say censorship only empowers the word in this regard.

Since I can't recall its use here then solely to ban it because of PM's sounds even less useful. It is not as if seeing **** is going to be difficult to figure out.

I am reasonably sure it was used here in the lounge in the past month.

And to be honest that is just wrong.

I use to call Batman a **** under my breadth all the time!

I had a chat with the tech guy to see if an exemption could be made to the rule, seems there was one so Goober McFly and Fang can now masterbate while talking about quarterbacks from Peterborough.

:rofl!: figures, darn priests.

well, seems our little miss censor has been at it via a number of pms....PM in plural not PMS as in...well you know.....

You have to wonder how small a mind has to be to not just be satisfied the mods bent to her (pussy) will about a word but then they have to go and get up in other member's faces about it......for shame...for shame.

THe C word (rhymes with blunt) is NO different than calling someone a pussy, if a person deems the word to be SO offensive that they have to campaign to have it banned, they have a problem. If you are going to be SO offended by "rhymes with blunt" that you have to go to these lengths then, all things being equal, you should also ban all words that have a negative connotation describing men. I'm not going into all of them right now, but tit for tat. You cannot in good conscious ban a word because it MIGHT be used in a negative way to describe a member of one sex yet allow the multitude of words describing the other sex. Sorry, but I'll call it like it is: PUSSIES yes, that's right, I might be banned for this but alas I am calling a spade a spade. PUSSIES.

Yes, the word was used recently BY ME in a post describing how one should be able to use it if a woman calls a man a cocksucker (in another time and place someone called me a tranny yet that was allowed and they weren't banned for it). Just like the word nigger....you can SAY "I feel word nigger is derogatory" in so much that how can that offend anyone when you're discussing its usage? Same as "rhymes with blunt"......

Anyhow, MODS? alas you have NO backbone to bend to one poster's will especially with NO foundation of its use in a derogatory way.......

SIEG HEIL SIEG HEIL!!!!!

I'm outta here folks......I'll leave my handle here for a month or so to insure I've made the right decision but at this point this board is a place I DO NOT want to be involved in......

So, I'll go join the ranks of the OPs that have left...CG, ANG and those who aren't here as much as they used to be A1player etc etc etc

BTW: this banning of the word just proves my point how so many men these days are PUSSY WHIPPED!!

It seems we need to rethink the banning of the word. We believe in the board being for the members. It's seems the majority of the members are offended by a word being banned or censored. I've decided to re-instate the word but will not tolerate it used in a derogatory fashion on the public board or via pm. The individuals using it in such a fashion will be dealt with individually.

The members have spoken!

Gentlemen and ladies

How about we agree the word is not one to be used just because it can be?

The word is offensive to the ladies and many men here find it offensive too; we should respect that.

Such a shame as I appreciate good debates as it stimulates the mind. Yet when one preaches censorship, it encourages a few people to control how we feel and what we feel and if HUBGFE becomes like this, then what is the purpose for being here. We have enough of people preaching morality on us everyday and HUBGFE is a place where we can escape from it.

By the way, the person who PMed me, get a grip. Voice your concerns here even if it's offensive or not. Accusing me of having a hidden agenda is just plain ridiculous. Last time I checked, there is no well known KGB secretly working in Canada.

Good move, Oceanus.

The original decision to ban the word prompted a helluva debate. Reinstating that word with this admonition strikes me as the right move.

In a related debate on another thread, I posted the following comment, which I wish I'd posted here instead, so I'll simply quote it.

The real issue is not the word itself, but the attitude of the person using it. Sometimes people should be banned, rather than words.

Used as a pejorative, the C-word is offensive, but it can also be used in a loving, worshipful context, as is so often the case in the poetry of Leonard Cohen:

My leash is too long
I think that I´m free
I´d leap at the young
but I´m sixty-three

I know what I want
It took many lives
I´m cured by the c unt
I´m killed by the eyes

Cohen used it respectfully there, so he didn't have to resort to clever letter structure like I did to avoid censorship. Read Beautiful Losers sometime. Cohen adores c unt.

So do I.

Perhaps now I can restate my point without having to trick the auto-censor:

. . . the C-word is offensive, but it can also be used in a loving, worshipful context . . .

Cohen adores cunt.

So do I.

I did not interpret anything RedVelvet said to mean that she thought it was okay for a woman to be called a cunt, or that she wanted to be called a cunt, or that she wanted anyone else to be called a cunt. She simply pointed out that banning the word itself wouldn't really accomplish anything, which I agreed with.

I was also recently told that I should stick with the Sisterhood. I replied via pm that someone having a vagina does not obligate me to agree with everything they say. I feel the same way about this current situation.

Calling a woman a cunt, whether in a public thread or via pm, is a clear violation of the rules here and the offender should be banned. But to ban the word itself would have been pointless.

Sounds to me like someone with very little intelligence was trying to insult yours.

And good for you for standing your ground being true to yourself and not being bullied by this pathetic curmudgeon.

Keep on voicing your opinion.

Now I know that you're a fraud because Maurice Boscorelli would not know what curmudgeon means or how to use it. In fact, he wouldn't be able to spell it.:biggrin2:

You haven't a clue what I was saying, your rambling on and on......

I really like you! :biggrin2:
