McDonald's answers the uncomfortable questions about its food.

Mcdonalds considering serving breakfast all day

As if I need more Egg Mcmuffins.

McMuffins all day long! Could McDonald's be ending their illogical policy of only serving breakfast during breakfast hours? CEO Don Thompson seemed to be flirting with that idea during a recent interview with CNBC, saying that McDonald's was working on "innovative ways of us expanding the breakfast hours, and some of those things we'll be seeing here in the near future."

In addition to breakfast, Thompson hinted that McDonald's could soon be rolling out mobile payment and loyalty rewards.

The company already offers delivery in some densely populated areas, and hopes to expand that service across the U.S. The McDonald's CEO also mentioned that in an effort to target millennials, McDonalds was increasing its presence at "the music fests".

Whatever it takes to restore profitability.

I had heard of the plan last year when it was first suggest and rolled out as a trial.

I myself have never much of the food and less of the breakfast. But for the 13 to 25 year old it should sell.

It's funny this is posted because today I went through the drivethrough at 11:01 and couldn't get a breakfast sandwich. I was devastated but survived by picking up a steak sandwich at Timmy's

McDonald's to increase average pay to $9.90/hr and offer 5 days of vacation a year

McDonald's to increase average pay to $9.90/hr and offer 5 days of vacation a year

I still say corporations have a reason why they do things.

The announcement, which comes on the heels of similar moves by Wal-Mart, Target and other big employers, is the latest piece of evidence that the improving economy is at last trickling down to low-wage workers.

But let’s not get carried away.
McDonald’s says the new policy would boost average pay by about 10 percent, to $9.90 an hour.

That’s shy of both the $15 an hour that union-backed protesters have been demanding and of the $10.10 an hour that President Obama has called for.

The new vacation policy, however, might be a bigger deal. McDonald’s said its workers will start being able to accrue up to five days of paid time off once they’ve been with the company for a year.

Five days of vacation may not sound like much, but it’s a better deal than many similar companies offer.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 39 percent of workers in the bottom 10 percent of earners get any paid time off at all.

Among all part-time workers, the rate is an even lower 34 percent. (In the accommodation and food service sector, 45 percent of workers get paid vacation, but that figure includes everyone from fry cooks up to CEOs. The share among low-wage workers in the sector is almost certainly much lower.)

Overall, 77 percent of private-sector U.S. workers get access to paid vacation.

Just PR work to make themselves look like the good guys. When in fact we know its not enough to survive.
