Not sure if it's the same person but there's a popular lady on the red board that gets upset if asked for a reference without the gent informing her first. This is rather silly as in my experience few ask before using us as a reference and if I got my knickers in a knot over it every time I'd shorten my life span. Instead of ragging on the lady who did nothing wrong she should take it up with the gent who used her without her prior consent if it means that much to her. I suspect that in truth she sees it as a threat to her business and reacts badly off the cuff. As far as I'm concerned we have an obligation to each other to keep each other safe regardless of whether the gent in question inquired first or not. If he's shopping around he'll continue to do so with or without our approval. Having said that, it is a nice surprise when we are asked first and aids the process because we're expectant of a query and have a ready made answer for our fellow provider. Why not make it easier on everyone involved!

The referencing issue with the ladies themselves making it hard is a problem that hurts the ladies as a whole. The fact is as in any other business, the individual would want that booking herself and feels a big slighted. So to qualify for a reference I've seen some sp's say you must have seen me so many times in this amount of time to qualify for my reference. To me this defeats the purpose of the screening movement.

In my hey day, this was never an issue. I mostly used the services of massage parlors sprinkled in with escort agencies. I didn't do this for any particular reason except out of mere convenience.

I just asked one lady for a reference, and gave it to a new lady. It was no problem at all followomg her booking policy. I assume the they communicated somehow, and I received confirmation that I’m booked. I’m really looking forward to my Birhday Treat :)

I dont think the lady I asked to be my reference will feel slighted, (it was a freind or hers I booked, I saw them chatting on twitter). I’ll book to see her around the same time. One is never enough.

Well I think some will agree with the points I am going to make and I think some will strongly disagree but hey that's what opinions are all about so here goes for what they are worth.
1. First and foremost this is NOT a game. Peoples safety and security on both sides is of utmost importance.
2 Screening in the USA has been way ahead o Canada an if you follow the options posted by the lady in question you should not have a problem and you probably don't have to give up personal information.
If you don't follow the options expect rejection or problems booking.
If you don.t want to follow the options find another lady Very simple.
3 If you want to use a lady for reference it is common decency to advise that lady or request her permission before you put that demand on her private information being given out.
This point is just play common sense but hey not everyone has common sense when thinking with he small head.
4. Giving your handle on the board when booking.
This should not be a problem unless you have something to hide. Are you a keyboard warrior or something else. A lady may look at your handle and see a review of someone they know or recognise and call for a reference her own. Again it should no be a big deal. Remember it is her and you safety she is concerned with.
5. Now this point is very political and I just giving you my opinion only.
With all the ass (wipes guys and ladies) making false appointments, calling hotel security, calling landlords, ordering take-out to be sent o hotel rooms. Personal and private information published on boards by idiots. Is it not wonder why we are in this situation.
I have declined to see some providers for various reasons but that is my decision to not participate. It was her decision to not break her rules.to ad so sad.
All I can say is if you are complaining about this issue f you are a guy or a lady. "PUT YOURSELF IN THE OTHER PERSON SHOES BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN"!!!!

Exactly! And if the lady does feel slighted that you ask her to be a reference, that says more about her than anything, we do not OWN our clients, sharing is caring! LOL.

It really shouldn't be a big deal to either provide references, OR real name and #, OR a board handle, if you can't do one of the three it comes off as super shady.

I have to disagree. Providing one's real name is just too dangerous.

Just my take.

You're real name isn't Anto? Mine is Mad Man or Mr. Man or just Mad.

I have never used my handle. Happily retired now but times are changing.

I have never used my handle or real name and if times are changing, I'm glad I'm out of the scene for now.

MM.....I know you've been at this for awhile. Do you just have enough of a reputation under some kind of "not your real name" that you can use that? Did you have to start with ladies who didn't require your name for screening or have times changed?

Primo, I've been retired from the hobby for well over a year now. I use to frequent a massage parlor probably 5 nights a week with the odd escort sprinkled in on the weekend and usually it was an agency like Top Drawer or Mirage so really, no I never had to use either. They may have had my number on file and knew I was safe and would show up but besides that, never had an issue.

It's too scary here in the states. Every provider wants your name and work number and other info so they can screen you until they feel safe. Then you are counting on them to keep your info safe from LEO and anyone else who could use it against you. I have to pass.

Exactly the point many many providers based here in Ontario are forgetting about and why the resistance to giving real identities.

So this is a non issue for you. Pray tell, why all the hullabaloo on here about it?

Sorry Sophia, I don't understand? I thought we were having a discussion. I apologize if I've wrongly given an opinion on screening. I really don't care who people see, what one spends and how they go about the process, it's a free world and I merely was posting my thoughts.

This is how I and others support ourselves in part or in full.

When I post things I'm always cognizant not only of how it portrays me, but how my comments may affect others, directly or indirectly.
If a new member joins and sees seasoned hobbyists remark in this way it might dissuade them from booking me and others like me who screen more stringently. I think it very understandable given my past experiences why I operate in this manner now.

Please bear in mind that while y
ou have no vested interest in this discussion, I and others do. My fear could be unfounded but it makes me very uneasy when I read mostly hypotheticals that may IMO unduly negatively influence others. I'm not saying that your fears are completely unfounded as they're not, but I truly believe there's more shenanigans being perpetrated by anonymous people out there than well known, transparent providers like myself and others.

Everything we do and say has a ripple effect!

You're asking seasoned veterans like MM to not teach new comers how to be safe on this side of the fence per say. You are one of the good ones but not all are as responsible as you. Some can be quite vindictive. I've known of ladies themselves fake booking other ladies, denying references for silly reasons. Once the claws come out some can be quite ruthless.

What do they say about a scorned woman?

Might I suggest being constructive and starting a thread recommending who you feel is good and trustworthy, much like the reliable Indy list on the red board, rather than lumping us all together with blanket statements. Wouldn't this be more beneficial to newbies by helping them differentiate? What you're doing is the equivalent to what mass media fear mongering does. They'll avoid everyone who screens because they'll think we're all potential loose cannons.

For the record, vindictiveness pertains to both sexes.

Here's texts from Batman57 to me using what shows up as an Iristel Inc. landline (app).

Distant Relatives First Name as well

I went to the police and because he's hiding behind an anonymous app there's nothing they can do. LE told me to block the number. I'm pretty much powerless to do anything about this harassment.

Please tell me when was the last time you or anyone you know was outed or threatened by a provider?

What you're describing Analme is women picking on other women. Furthermore, the proverb you speak of stems from a late 17th century play by William Congreve, when women were considered the weaker sex. I assure you that were not!

Personal opinion here.

Screening is something we will always have people on both sides of the argument.
This makes neither one wrong.
Because they know what is right for them.

We need to accept it for what it is.
Something that is out there and not everyone will agree to it or demand it.

I recently went through screening to see a provider I’ve wanted to meet. Have a prebooked appt coming up. I gave her names of 2 other providers I’ve seen. She checked references and let me know we’re all set. (So now my regs know I’m seeing someone new, I probably shouldn’t, but feel obligated to see them again because they gave me a reference). I sent the new girl an etransfer deposit. I’ve never had to give a deposit before, but I wanted to make sure she doesn’t cancel.
I’ve had a bunch of well reviewed providers cancel appts, and I didn’t want to have to set up a plan B.
Hopefully this will work out.
