TTC drivers caught texting behind the wheel.

^^^ it's not a threat if it is a purely hypothetical situation because we all know he wouldn't have the balls to actually attempt that in real life.

Notice though (Like most unionists) that he wholeheartedly supported his brethren up until the point that he actually has to put up or shut up? ie: his support for his union buddies only goes so far as words on a website, when it comes down to actually backing up his support with deeds he runs like a cheap pair of nylons.....

My brother in law is a TTC driver and Chunky is correct on their hourly pay. I did his tax returns last year and I know for a fact he made $58000.00 for the year and it included some hours of overtime.

At family gatherings some of his stories are priceless. They get a decent wage and benefit package that has had me thinking of applying too, I just don't know if I can handle driving a bus for 8 hours a day or end up having to drive in a bad part of the city. I know I'm a chicken shit.:he:

Two questions for you smooth:

1) How long has be been doing it?
2) What are his qualifications? Bachelor's degree? Trade School? College? High School? Did he have to be bonded? Certified?

There are literally THOUSANDS of jobs that pay a lot less than that that require a degree, specialized training, specialized skills, etc.

Last time they struck they did a comparison to a Lab tech. You know, the one who determines whether you have cancer, AIDS, Parkinson's, etc? The one who requires 4 yrs of university? The one that starts at $34K a year......

correction: the one that starts at $27K a year.......

Or how about an electrician? at a starting rate of $14.00 per hour who requires:

1,500 hours of on-the-job training and eight weeks of technical training in each of the first three years
1,350 hours of on-the-job training and 12 weeks of technical training in the fourth year.

Who, after 4 yrs of apprenticing, MIGHT make that......

ONLY 58 made 100K?? that's ALL omg stop the presses....

The TTC has a team of over 12,000 employees. Most are operators, however the Commission also employs supervisors, custodians and a wide range of skilled trades people who work on vehicles and critical subway and surface infrastructure.

In October 2008, TTC was named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers by Mediacorp Canada Inc., which was announced by the Toronto Star newspaper.

58 out 12000 made the kind of money you are ranting about. Dude get your facts straight before you spew out your verbal diarrhea

$50K a year to...drive a fricken BUS? The only qualifications necessary are a driver's licence and a clean record? Holy crap....

Dude it is what it is. They were negotiated contracts. In your world if one of your clients makes a contract with you for $30,000 to finish his entire basement and once you complete it you approach him to get paid, he turns to you and hands you $15000. and tells you "dude you're an uneducated contractor that can put some wood and nails together, this is more than enough for you now get lost!"
I doubt you would calmly say yes Sir and thank you very much. NO, you would come out swinging I'm sure.

No, Mike Holmes doesn't feel like a purple nurple, he's an idiot that people like you pray to and kiss his ass. He is in DREAM LAND and people like you don't realize it.

See, just in case you don't realize it, he has a TV show...get it? TV show.....but then again, you probably think Star Trek and the X files are real too......

I know very well it's a TV show but the reason I bring him up is that I know you think he at times unfairly criticizes contractors.

I am aware of him being able to give away free service and product because many of the suppliers donate it and in turn their companies get advertised on his show.

He is now doing the same with Home Inspectors. The rub is the inspectors association or whatever they call it had invited him to a presentation. 6 months later he opened up his own inspection company and started his new show to cut down the normal type of home inspection. I hear his company charges about $900.00 for an inspection in comparison to $300.00 from the average company. One of my closest friends works for Pillar and Post Inspection and was telling me this tidbit.

Dude I'm well aware of Mike Holmes but what you do with the TTC drivers is the same. You are on any unionized worker that you feel is overpaid regardless of knowing anything about their daily duties or stress of the job. All you look at is their perks and pay. Give it a rest and if it's such a good job STFU and go apply!

Oh, and a head's up? You make any attempt to piss on me in real life and you'd end up in the hospital or worse......trust me on that!

 You're so predictable it's not funny. If you trip on a brick, knock yourself out and my bullmastiff comes, lifts his leg and pisses on you it's not my fault? You knew I was holding it and had to run inside to take a whiz in a toilet like most human beings do so next time watch wear you step.

One more thing, how can you be so sure you can handle someone you never met? Underestimating someone you have never met in person and haven't been able to size up is the biggest mistake any trained fighter would not make. I'm just saying, be very careful because one never knows what lies behind door number 1.

Here's where you're WRONG once again:

If you're going to lump ALL ttc employees together, the number that make over $100K is 588, not 58. Those 58 were operators only....

I don't slag ALL union workers, only those that are over paid, underworked, and walk around with a zombie attitude that they are better, deserve better, and are protected when they obvious break not just the RULES but the LAW.

As for your bullshitmastiff and your bricks, being a union flunky you should know that keeping an unsafe work environment is against the law and should anyone trip on your bricks, you'd be liable. Hope your insurance is paid up.

As for your last comment, how can I be sure? Experience......anytime you want to test your mettle you just say the word......

There's a buffer on House?

House introduces a janitor to Megan's family as Dr. Buffer so that the janitor can act as an assistant.
