Bad move by Jillian. She should’ve reported to the cops or circulate information among agencies to protect the girls if that was her intention. By exposing her client, a long time client nonetheless, how can anyone trust her with screening information. If she does this, then what’s to say she’ll out a client if you get on her wrong side for whatever reason (even if it doesn’t have to do with one of her girls).
Also so makes it hard for Indy’s to assure that screening will not expose the client have the example that Jillian set. What a garbage move by her.
This is sadly the outcome of this tweet.
I get the intention. I truly do. I believe that Jillian 100% believes what her girl told her. The girl does not want to go to the police and be re-victimized by them and I get that too.
We also don't know if this girl has a BF, or family and friends who don't know what she does and with involving LE, that can cause more damage to her.
It is a no-win situation for everyone.
Everyone says to call the police to deal with it, but when that is truly not a viable option, what is one to do. For years, women in this industry have been purposefully preyed upon because of this fact. Because many women can't go to the police.
And yes, we have BCLs and private forums, etc but again, so many women are put in a position to keep their mouths shut and suffer the victimization of being raped. In all these threads, this girl gets one line from some people and nothing from others. That line "if true, then he is an asshole" or some other name, you can fill it in. But then they go on and on about his rights. If this is true, we are talking about protecting a rapist and showing concern for a rapist but the girl get maybe 1 line of support in a post? How is that at all right?
And you guys wonder why women are cheering this act? They are sick of being silenced when they are the victims. You guys have to understand that right?
Don't get me wrong, I am all for privacy and I am 100% against false accusations. I truly am. And I will admit that woman from a very popular screening site did admit to false accusations herself, so it does happen. I am not going to be stupid and say it does not. And yes - this is part of the effect of those false accusations. Women who are indeed sexually assaulted have a much harder burden of proof.
However, as a victim myself, I am really getting sick and tired of a rapist getting away with shit because the victim is unable to utilize police assist and therefore she is left with - "didn't call the police, oh well didn't happen."
Something has to change.
But, Jillian's tweet just set us back a few years in this struggle for safety in this industry. It doesn't help that she has a history of outing girls and guys. No one is going to bother remembering the girl that was raped. All they are going to remember is the very real fact that clients can and do get outed.
