Today's the day. Sorry I can't be there in person to support the cause, but I am there in spirit.

We need to stop blaming victims. And we need to stop shaming others for their sexuality.

I support the ladies who started this social movement to inch us toward a more civilized society. I support their effort to re-appropriate the word itself, to eliminate the sexist connotations.

And I freely admit this basic fact: I am a slut.

Most men are.

Peter McKay calls us perverts. I disagree with that assessment. But I definitely am a slut. A downright hedonistic, heterosexual slut.

Like every other guy here who worries about future laws, I oppose Bill C-36's goal of penalizing clients and publicly shaming anyone involved in pay-for-play, consensual sex between adults.

As a man who believes in respect for others, I say it's well past time to stop shaming women for their sexuality.

You may find updates here this afternoon: https://twitter.com/SlutWalkTO

I was a slut until I started charging for it, then I became a respectable working woman, lol. :biggrin2:

That hurts.

If it hurts just to read these tweets, think of how much pain and shame and misogyny women have to deal with daily. That really hurts.

Not every woman has had to deal with misogyny.

I think you're wrong, at some point in her life every woman has to deal with misogyny and the first step to fixing it is to expose the problem when it arises.
