Fuck she was so young and cute. Too bad she never met a decent guy to make her feel special.

On one hand we condemn bullying, yet we often encourage and reward it in our daily lives.
Look at politics, sports, business, escort boards etc. :aggressive2:

They bully the weak that want to spend money. Not young girls that have insecurity problems and are vulnerable to jerks like him.

Amanda Todd’s mom speaks out about daughter’s death

By Gillian Shaw, Vancouver Sun October 12, 2012

Amanda Todd’s mother, Carol Todd, doesn’t want other children to suffer as her daughter did — stalked and harassed by bullies in cyberspace and in the schoolyard, by people she knew and by stalkers many miles away.
. . .
Now Carol wants to tell her story. It is a story no mother wants to tell.

“Amanda was a very caring individual. She would help others who needed help,” Carol told The Vancouver Sun during an exclusive interview Friday at her home, where she was surrounded by friends and family. “One of Amanda’s goals was to get her message out there and have it used as a learning tool for others.”

As a teacher in the Coquitlam school district and a specialist in assistive technologies, Carol is comfortable around computers and knows well the dangers the online world can hold. Still, she wasn’t able to protect her child.

“I have lost one child, but know she wanted her story to save 1,000 more.”

In wake of Amanda Todd suicide, MPs to debate anti-bullying motion

As Canadians debate the right response to a case of cyber bullying that may have pushed B.C. teenager Amanda Todd to take her own life, lawmakers will consider a motion that seeks to lay the groundwork for a national bullying prevention strategy in the House of Commons Monday. But the father of a teen who took his own life because of bullying says it’s time for action, not another study.

NDP MP Dany Morin will introduce the motion aimed at building an all-party committee of MPs to study the prevalence of bullying and help build a framework for a national anti-bullying strategy.

Thanks for the good news Art.

One needs to be mentally tough as well. If someone has suicidal tendencies they will find a trigger sooner or later. I was bullied when I was younger and some kids attempted too in my teen-age years. It hurt but in the end I was to big for them to physically harm me and they knew it. Do we really need the government getting more involved in our lives as a society? I'm sorry but a sane mind cannot be legislated and people who commit suicide I believe have a mental issue.

It a started with an online sexual predator on teenage girls, this guy has been known to post on child porn sites. I hope this guy get caught and throw in prison and gang raped.

My heart breaks for Amanda Todd and her family. :sorry2:

Yeah, the government is going to put forth a nationwide strategy......spend millions doing it and accomplish nothing.

From what I understand of this case, the teachers at her school were aware of it, and did nothing......

The way to prevent and punish bullies is simple: when anyone notices it happening, punish the bully. END OF STORY. It is also my understanding that the school knew about her getting beat up and failed to notify her mother, which is already law.....

The teachers and schools need to be given the power to discipline children without the fear of be sued or over scrutinized in the public eye. I remember in my the strap in my day and then being afraid of what my father would do to me if I came home and complained about it.

The teachers have been stripped of any power and only face criticism by the public.

Parents fly in to defend their children at the drop of a hat no matter what the accusation. They even do it when their children are in university. My neighbor is a prof at university and tells me stories of parents coming in to complain about the marks that their kid got. Seriously?

Back on topic. Bullies need to be punished and punished harshly. This especially extends to the internet where this type of "courage behind a keyboard" is so prevalent. Parents need to made aware of what their little shits are up to when they're online.
