There is a thread just started that I responded to with the below post. But I think this is such an important idea that I have decided to make another post as a lead. As a professional poker player, I am very very knowledgable with real world game theory applications. Apologizes if this a bit much for this forum.

People act in their own best interest. Sometimes people do not recognize that their own best interest can manifest itself as a selfless act to further the greater good.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner%27s_dilemma for an example.

If no one reviews, everybody loses, if everybody reviews, this may be the overall best result for the users (that is us) and the worst for the SPs. Something in between is, from a game theory POF questionable. Certainly non reviewers gain in many game theory states, at the cost of reviewers.

But that doesn't mean a lurker is a bad person. They could be shy, or scared somehow their wife could find out. Or whatever. There is a game theory benefit to a lurker going to well reviewed SPs. that is they act as a proxy for the actual reviewer. Hence, there is some gain, though hard to see for the community.

I will elaborate in a much better fashion if there is a real interest.

I would be interested as well. I have only reviewed one sp # 1 cause I am lazy # 2 I am lazy.

Saw two this week and considering reviewing them. But let me know what you have to say.

Obviously, you are acting in what you think is in your best interest. So do that. But understand that if you contribute that we all do better as a result of you reviewing.

Think about.

And hey, if you don't write too well, just say so. It's ok. This is does not require a PHD.

There is also the issue of not getting a response when you do a review. On another board I once wrote a review and got zero replies. Felt kind of empty not even one thank you for taking the time to review. I have noticed here that the members are more thoughtful but I cannot bear to write one again and get rejected like that.

This an extremely good point. I opened this as a game theory thread, yet posters have come out such as you indicating things I had not considered in my model. Which is fine for me.

Bit of advice: When you give a review be genuine and let the chips fall were they may.

Oh, if you give a review PM and will respond.

Take the leap!
I am newish to the hobby, and have lurked elsewhere, but have to say this site is very friendly. Plenty of different reviewing styles and all seem to be met with polite enthusiasm. I think we all have plenty of reasons for not writing reviews but it is in many ways the purpose of the board and benifical to have as many sps reviewed from as many different perspectives as possible.

And to get back on thread, Im curious too....lets see what you have to say regarding game theory.

Actually the game theory has pros and cons for everyone.

For the reviewer:

Pro: Keeps the gems you find in business, therefore you can meet her again. Also keeps the other gems employed, sometimes for years.

Pro: Satisfies the male ego to brag. Also revenge on bad Sp's by ruining them.

Con: Keeps the gems you find busy, therefore harder to book. Also you are constantly exposed to advertising furthering your bankruptcy. Even (reviewer) guy gets bankrupt eventually while doing this stuff, just they don't like to admit it.

Bottom line:

To some extent reporting makes it worth it, versus not telling other you had hot sex. Will eventually develop financial difficulties, and calculate what you could have bought (at the very least), and will develop woman hating tendancies.

XXXXXXXXX

For the lurker:

Pro: Only would meet gems, never TOFTT.

Con: Hidden TDL. Possibly lurkers are more poor, and therefore have nothing to report. Why brag about meeting two well reviewed chicks.

To some extent the real winners. Except reviews left encourage them to spend more, even while not reporting. Same as "the bottom line" above.

XXXXXXXX

For the escort:

Pro: Major business for top escorts

Con: May be encouraged to do things they feel uncomfortable doing like (BBBJ). Becomes a rough business for some who are more GND type.

Con: Also have to deal with everyone, including the jerks who don't respect other, then suffer burnout and leave as manhaters.

Con: Escorts who start and could be gems find business slow at first and may leave quickly. Also these girls get addicted to high income, a major ego buster as soon as they leave the biz. Trust me, these chicks ain't savers.

First post even though I used to be known as "Dimples" and elsewhere as "batman 57", noe here as well, so I know what I'm talking about.

The true understanding is:

1) Your money is worthless "They print this junk from a machine".
2) The junk you buy is worthless "Escort services".
3) You are worthless "This is the message from the media, and society".

If you don't believe me, just sit on a bus and look at people.

Talk to you later pervs.

Not bad at all. Can follow what you've said. Bottom line is we all have different opinions but should respect others.

Senor,

LoL, they don't usually ban poker players from casinos. They ban Blackjack counters, or anyone in general caught cheating.

How can they count cards when there are six decks?. I always wondered about that.

Glad to see my thread brought you out. I appreciate your comments.

1) Your money is worthless "They print this junk from a machine".

Everything is worth whatever we put it's value at. What' worth more an ounce of gold or a can of beans? We all know the answer, but we also all know there could easily be a circumstance where beans are worth more than gold.

2) The junk you buy is worthless "Escort services".

I personally really enjoy the experience overall. I find that if the SP is treated with respect, it can be a reasonable exchange for her too. I think sometimes SPs are underestimated here. There are many intelligent woman who have made completely reasonable decisions to become SPs. They should be respected. There is no objective answer here.

3) You are worthless "This is the message from the media, and society".

A couple of Bertrand Russell quotes are relevant here:

The people who are regarded as moral luminaries are those who forego ordinary pleasures themselves and find compensation in interfering with the pleasures of others.

Bertrand Russell

One should as a rule respect public opinion in so far as is necessary to avoid starvation and to keep out of prison, but anything that goes beyond this is voluntary submission to an unnecessary tyranny, and is likely to interfere with happiness in all kinds of ways.

Bertrand Russell, Conquest of Happiness (1930) ch. 9
