Georgia Mother Shoots Home Intruder Five Times After Being Cornered in Attic

Fear.......we are all afraid of somebody entering our homes, hurting our families.
So we buy guns, then the Gun Companies come out with Bigger and Better Guns...
Advertise you need this....think of your family, children you need to protect them...
Then they say....Magazines with 5 or 6 shots are not enough you need ones that
can hold the most you can get....Remember you want your family safe.....

My question : Why has nobody come up with a better way of dealing with this
that does not need to cause death...that people can buy that if a child gets it
and points it to the Brother or Sister they will not kill them...If their teenager
gets it then it well not cause the harm we are seeing.....

What if that Mother froze, what then.....

If you have not lost a family member by a gun, it easy for people
to have answers but ask a person who has lost a family member...

Fear....News bring it right into the homes...fear....and media for
the Gun Company, they take what is happening in the News and
turn it into Fear......They want to sell their guns....that all, and like
idiots we buy them then they end up on the streets.....Studies have proven
that the Death Penalty does not stop murder or make people stop shooting
others......

If we all as a Society did not have any guns what so ever...why is that so bad...
Why is it so bad that John did not shoot his sister or brother....why is it so bad that
all the high school teens did not die from the hands of a follow student....why is not
having guns so bad.....that a mentally ill person and I would like to say We all can break
mentally can get their hands on a gun and shoot Children.....

Fear....Reality People die, Yes homes get rob, people get hurt or killed.....
But there are better ways of dealing with these issues.....then having people
having the Biggest and Best Guns because the News and because of a Big
Gun Company preying on our fears

so you punish the innocent to inconvenience to guilty?

How is that at all "punishing" the innocent.
It's more like inconveniencing the innocent to hinder the guilty.

The "innocent" won't mind waiting a bit longer for their legitimate guns if that means one less gun on the street.
The "innocent" won't mind strict penalties because they wouldn't be the ones perpetrating the gun crimes.

However, the "guilty" will mind both.

you have a very naive perspective when it comes to criminals.

Explain why semi automatic should be illegal? How will that stop the criminal use of firearms? Consider this, theres over 100 million people in the US that own firearms. Out of over 280 million firearms, there been 30,000 deaths attributed to firearms, some accidental, some deliberate.

If the USA had a ban on assault rifles, large capacity magazines and modification then I think Adam Lanza would not have had access to the fire power and some of those children would have been spared. Is saving the life of children worth depriving people from target practice, in my books absolutely!

Sorry to be a buzz kill, but reports I've been reading have indicated that the bushmaster was not used but the 2 handguns were. Neither had large capacity mags. None of them were modified nor did they have what we consider high capacity magazines either. The Bushmaster is NOT an assault rifle, an assault rifle is a full automatic rifle, not a semi automatic so quit calling them an assault rifle when they are not. There is no difference between the bushmaster and any other semi automatic rifle on the market. They all fire at the same rate.

And another buzz kill, we need to focus on the individual committing the offenses more so than his choice of weapon. He tried to purchase his own firearms and was turned down. Then he went and stole his mothers. As much as I understand your sentiments, it's NOT GOING TO STOP THE CRIMINALS. As soon as you understand that, then we can begin to fix the problem which has to do with the lack of seriousness taken by the courts on the criminal use of firearms.

Piers Morgan is at it again tonight and I applaud his conviction. The White house responded to the petition to deport Mr. Morgan by saying they will look into it but remember the country holds freedom of speech in high regard or something to that effect.

Both the theatre shooter and the school shooter used an AR 15 to kill the victims. You must be reading the propaganda the NRA is spewing out.

Was talking specifically about Adam Lanza. I could care less about the NRA, but it does piss me off when the media spews out mistruths.

What I keep preaching is, making the firearms illegal isnt going to solve the problem. There's just far too many of them in the states as it is. You want to fix the problem, you fix it at the root. You dont make law abiding and responsible citizens criminals. You deal with the criminal act seriously and severely.

I agree with you on toughening up the criminal act but I would also like to see some weapons banned. James Holmes did acquire his weapons legally which is mind boggling if you ask me.

If you missed it watch the midnight repeat. A crazy gun advocate went toe to toe with Morgan, interesting watch.

For the last time, these attacks are not committed by CRIMINALS they are committed by psychotics, the second you realize that then we can get on with the debate and make changes.......if it were ONLY criminals (like it is in canada) who had access to illegally obtained weapons then these attacks wouldn't occur.

Seriously, why can't you see the difference?

Sure, the eaton center attack was committed by a criminal, but that is one out of many. The rest of the time these attacks were committed by people who had access to legally obtained weapons. Even you have to admit that making something harder to obtain would, ahem, make it harder for them to commit these heinous acts.......

where these criminal acts???

It's a criminal act tboy. No ifs ands or buts about it. The second you use a firearm to commit a crime, whether its stick up, a murder or a psychotic shooting spree, you're branded a criminal and should have the book thrown at you. You don't blame the weapon, you blame the person that committed the crime.

Analme, I agree, he even got a government grant of 26,000 and was a scholar.

Sheik

trying to explain a crime has been comited to a jurist that has decided no crime occurred because the perp was nuts. Is like reading poetry to a rock. You just hear your words and the rock just sits there.
Many here have decided that if a gun were not available these people would never have acted out and killed.

Of course they say these people are insane and by extension it was the gun to triggered the insanity

Doesn't this thread make you long for the days that "small penis syndrome" meant muscle cars :biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

Why you go for the bigger ones?:biggrin2:
How is that Mustang Cobra handling these days?

Seriously though, the smilies mean the comments were somewhat tongue in cheek. They were not directed at anyone specifically and I apologize if they struck a nerve.

is that a confession??

Now back to the original thread

Sheik and Papa, what are your thoughts on Alex Jones? Seriously, this jerk is actually getting support on FB and the claims of how he put Peirs in his place. Piers was chomping at the bit to unleash but was controlling himself. Seriously, tell me Papa and Sheik do you believe this jerk-off should own 50 guns. He's a perfect example of why guns laws should be changed.

How can you not agree on T's logic?? First off tougher laws will not help with people like Lanza and most mass shooters because the plan in their twisted minds is too usually go out in a blaze of glory, so please educate me on how tougher laws will help??

One more thing, PLEASE tell me why your right to own a semi automatic AR-15 trumps the right of the rest of the public. Now if I'm not mistaken you can own an AR 15 in Canada but can only hold 4 rounds or less but I could be wrong on this one.

Really, just a hunting rille, mmmm wow. Yup, how can we crazy left lib pinko's be so uneducated?:don'twantto-see:/

I don't know if you notice this or not but only the gun nuts are following this as close as you are

and by gun nuts I mean people who go nuts when they hear the word gun.

as for owning 50 guns I am not aware of his circumstances so I can not comment.

Myself I see collectors are everywhere and collect everything from baseball cards to cars
