Please leave me out of this, I have been cordial towards you for sometime. BTW, it's HOF not Hof or hof. That correction is not a jab, it's my handle.

I stand corrected and will refer to you as you wish HOF but you have taken jabs at me and to say otherwise is a lie. You have been much better and you have left Ida out which is noted and appreciated.

Cycleguy, it is not only politicians that believe, we have Doctors, Lawyers, even some Scientists are among the believers. Take a look at some of these names:

Note: Individuals on this list must possess a doctorate in a science-related field.

These are not gullible or malleable people. All I can say is for all of our sake I hope am the one who is correct because the picture Tboy paints in regards to worm food is quite bleak and disturbing to say the least.

This is a very interesting article about the after life and the phenomena of one floating above their body

https://www.jonbarron.org/article/brain-functions-even-after-death.

It really makes for an interesting debate among the believers and the naysayers but you must both agree, deep down you hope I am correct? Especially you Cycleguy, having a family and being reunited after death, is that not more appealing to you than being worm food?

Let's get something straight, jabs and insults are different things. To me a jab is in humour whereas an insult isn't.

We agree and this was a jab not an insult. If HOF agrees with me then all must agree there is a God!(jab)

The leader of a free country should welcome all faiths, NO?

Agreed but in reality this is not the case. President Obama, Prime Minister Harper and their predecessors all have believed in a higher power and when making decisions as a mortal being you must agree their beliefs bring in their biases.

Gentlemen is that it for the topic of life after death?

It heartens me when doctors believe in the white light. I had a nightmare the other night in regards to worm food. Tboy, that was a horrible statement which I still cannot get out of my mind.

I certainly hope that's it for the topic, baz.

:banghead:

You put up you ammunition, consisting of a long list of outstanding people who are perfectly entitled to believe whatever they want (just as we are), and a talk-show interview with a doctor who is promoting a book he wrote based on extensive anecdotal notes about near-death experience.

Madman responds with an insightful article from Huffington Post debunking anecdotal evidence as inadequate for scientific proof.

Touché. :PEACE:
Good find, Madman. Also, nice touch with the picture of worms, just to torture baz a little.Diabolic yeah

Happy New Year to you too.:biggrin2:

OK, baz, let's face it:

The worm imagery isn't causing your nightmares. It's fear of the unknown. It's fear itself. Madman and tboy have simply helped you visualize fear.

But that's exactly what you need to do. Face fear and deal with it.

By the way, baz, you hijacked your own thread. You started on the topic of sex, albeit with pious overtones, suggesting we should take a hiatus during this festive holiday season. Too bad you couldn't take a hiatus from preaching at us.

Meanwhile, you have consistently dodged a relevant question posed earlier:

The thing is, and hopefully one day baz will see the light, is whatever happens between two consenting adults in the privacy of their bedroom is not a sin nor is it anyone's business but their own.....

...Perhaps you could address tboy's point, baz. I for one will enjoy reading an enlightened response.

Let's get off the religious debate, baz, and get this conversation back to where it belongs:

SEX.

Happy Nude Year to you ... and to all HUBGFE too.

:party: :YMPARTY::party::YMPARTY::party:

Art. it is much easier to find articles from the non-believers than it is from the believers. Remember the old saying;

God works in mysterious ways

This is the thing, it's all about faith. The cookies of faith are sprinkled all over but it is the enlightened individuals that know where to look for them but I digress, I will leave it as this and wish everyone a Prosperous and Happy 2013!

. . . God works in mysterious ways . . .
Yes indeed, baz, and the mystery to us has been why She brought you here to us.

This is the thing, it's all about faith. The cookies of faith are sprinkled all over but it is the enlightened individuals that know where to look for them . . .
Which is why we have faith that, like Saul on the road to Damascus, you will see the light and we no longer have to cry, "baz, baz, why persecutest thou us."

We pray that someday we can welcome you as an "enlightened individual."

I think you mean delusional.

There is nothing "enlightened" about an individual who believes in an imaginery friend. If your child came to you and said there was an invisible dog that spoke to him or her, you'd say "yeah ok, right" and hopefully think they'd grow out of it. But you are really no different. You "believe" in an imaginery friend along with millions of others.

On to your "god works in mysterious ways"...that's the excuse bible thumpers always use whenever your "god" gives leprosy to a 4 yr old, or gives a 6 yr old terminal cancer and on the other side of the coin, when a doctor preforms a lifesaving operation, "god" gave him the skill to do it....naw, school and practise gave him the skill to do it.

Now let's take heaven. So, if everything that lived a good life goes to heaven, then that would mean that heaven is full of trees, dogs, cats, animals, and everyone who ever lived. Oh yeah, we can't forget the dinosaurs, they'd be up there too. Damn, heaven must be crowded worse than a tokyo subway at rush hour!

Now don't get me wrong, your and others belief in an imaginery friend have helped thousands deal with life's troubles but you also can't overlook just how damaging these beliefs are. How many millions have been killed in your god's name? How many are still killed in his name today? And let's not overlook 911. Muslims and their associated extremists are no different than devote christians. You're all cut from the same cloth. I can't for the life of me understand how any christian could condone what they did on 911 when their "faith" has done much much worse.

Next time you go to church and look up at your idol, and see the blood painted on the hands, remember: that isn't his blood, that's the blood of the millions killed in his name, and you're going there to worship that.

Meanwhile, you have consistently dodged a relevant question posed earlier:

I didn't dodge anything Art, I honestly didn't know it was a question but since you have informed me otherwise I will be more than happy to answer Tboy's question.

My answer will surprise many of you I'm sure. It is nobody’s business what one does behind closed doors but and I emphasize BUT it becomes the public's business when individual(s) market their lifestyle, try and indoctrinate more impressionable individuals and therefore propagating the myth that homosexuality, pay for play, adultery just to name a few are appropriate lifestyles.

Tboy, the word of God is love and forgiveness unfortunately how mankind interrupts the scriptures leave much to be desired and I am the first one to admit it. It doesn't mean you throw out the baby with the bath water does it?? Let me put it this way, you believe and once your time comes you find you actually have moved on to heaven because it really exists, you'd be a happy camper would you not? On the other hand you live your life in a spiritual fashion and you pass on and there's absolutely nothing, have you loss anything since in your own words at this point you've ceased to exist?? I believe in hedging one's bets, call me a fool if you like but in my opinion it's better safe than sorry. It's simple thinking but it does make sense.

Thank you for acknowledging something on which we can all agree, baz.

But here we have diverging opinion:

. . . it becomes the public's business when individual(s) market their lifestyle, try and indoctrinate more impressionable individuals and therefore propagating the myth that homosexuality, pay for play, adultery just to name a few are appropriate lifestyles.

You see, baz, it is both unbecoming and a public nuisance when religious zealot(s) market their lifestyle, try to indoctrinate impressionable individuals, and propagate the myth that homosexuality, pay for play, adultery, just to name a few, are not appropriate lifestyles.

When that behaviour moves from a nuisance conversation in the lunch room to an on-line forum, the person exhibiting that sanctimonious behaviour becomes just one more annoying troll.

There is no GOD! However, there are several Goddesses that I`ve shaboinked!
