Kijiji vacation rental scam strikes again — at the same cottage

I would also like to point out that I was burned when I used a mover through Kijiji. Do not sign anything unless you read all the fine print. I was quoted 400 but ended up paying $1200.

It was a day of hell, he said go ahead and call the cops. You signed the agreement. I didn't read it properly, said minimum of 4 hours but x 3 movers plus charge on moving it upstairs etc...

I tried calling the next day but the phone was disconnected and so was their ad. But did notice similar ads with new numbers.

Will never use Kijiji again

I was so worried when I was hiring movers because I have heard of this before. They are sneaky little bastards, some of these movers. Even to the way they park their truck for unloading to ensure that no car can park in front of the moving truck to prevent it from leaving with your stuff if you refuse to pay the upsell.

From my understanding, all moves come with an upsell, but you have to read the fine print of what you sign, that is very true.

I was lucky that I got them taking money off when I moved because they dropped a box and broke a standing toilet paper roll holder. The box was marked fragile and I pulled the overrating bitchy women card. Worked like a charm! So no upsell for me, we settle on the price it was originally quoted.

So next time you move wanker, just give me a call. I can be your ace in the whole! No man likes dealing with my bitchiness online, can you imagine it in person. :LMAO:

There is one trick you all can learn. If they double or triple their rate and your furniture is in their truck just say, Screw it I won't pay. By law they cannot take off with your furniture and they know it. They will have no choice but to dump it on the street.

I was lucky enough to have my property manager recommend a good moving company that she uses all the time. It was the only time I've hired movers and they did a great job for way less than the estimate! The box of beer I asked them to take off my hands before we started might have had something to do with it, lol.
