Let's get the elephant in the room addressed here - the problem with your "nobody should have been born with any disability" argument is that it's a blatantly ablist thing to say. It doesn't promote acceptance of disabled people or the idea that they are human beings; all it does is toss them into a curb and label them as unwanted or undesirable. If someone were to say "nobody should have been born non-white/gay/women/poor" I'm sure that's an extremely shitbag thing to say, so why is it okay for you to take a shit on disabled people? Because they cannot fight back?

Autism fulfills the scientific definition of a disability and you just simply have to accept that, because a) we struggle in social settings and b) the patterns of which we communicate and socialize is not consistent with societal expectations leading us to struggle in social environments and workplaces. However in a perfect environment where people are not judgemental or if bullies did not exist autism would just be another trait, and I would be hesitant to call it a disability, but for now it's a disability only in the sense that it severely marginalizes and underprivileges us.

You're learning, which I like but instead of giving your 2 cents on what you think of disabled people the best way for you to show respect to us is to let us speak and listen, and to let us have a voice.

It all depends on the specific Doctor's or Psychologists clinical bias??


At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if you're diagnosed with any of the above three disorders. At the end of the day, if you have autism, then getting a decent job is a major problem. At least if you know you have autism, you're able to mitigate your weaknesses and focus on your strengths.

My opinions on how best to deal with an aspergers diagnosis.

1. Get a vasectomy 2. Get as much much family support as you can. 3. Try to stay away from people as much as you can---LOL You'll just annoy them. 4. Take a course in money management, so you won't get ripped off by crooked financial advisors etc 5. Learn to manage your own money, as even your own family, can try and rip you off--LOL

I think disabled people are human beings, PERIOD, including ANYBODY that is disabled - autistic people, people born with no legs, etc. They should be respected JUST AS MUCH as any marginalized communities and we should not judge them. And to get a sense of how their lifestyles are like we have to listen to them and let them speak about the stigma that they have faced in society, rather than speaking on behalf of them.
