Transphobia within this community

got off on the wrong foot is all! i admire your confidence and your overwhelming support for the LGBTQ community. i've never been great at arguing, just standing up for people i love. these comments are offensive to me but i just feel exasperation, leading me to give up though my morals are saying it isn't the right thing.

its complicated and ding ding guess what another controversial topic - i think attraction is fluid until you are 100% sure. i was hetero then homosexual then bisexual homoromantic and now just bisexual. it's all about finding who you are. you do you beautiful :)

have you seen Stef Sanjati
- YouTube
on youtube about the voice thing omg i love her lol she is toronto based and one of the most addicting transgendered persons i have ever seen and actually changed one of my friend's ideology on transphobia! not that people need to change to fit the female/male stereotype but just if it makes you happier!

Thank you for the link my love <3

Yeah attraction is definitely fluid. In fact one thing I really despise is how others make sexual attraction a) all about the genitalia and b) very rigid as in "you're either gay, straight, or bi". Sexual attraction is more than just genitalia and moreover you can be attracted to tangible or intangible things that are not specific to either gender. I actually feel that it's very gross and humiliating for people to make sexual attraction all about "you either like cock or pussy" because it degrades human beings to nothing more than genitalia.

I discovered that my sexual attraction and orientation is very complex, and was the main reason why I wasn't too sure about it until just recently. At a very young age (when I presented as male) I thought I was gay, mainly because others said that I was, so I took their word for it. I had no idea about the concept of "gay-bashing" where young boys will call other boys "gay" if they don't act "masculine" or don't enjoy boys activities even if they are not sexually attracted to other boys. On top of that I didn't develop any sexual attraction to girls; in fact when I watched the first porn I was grossed out by it.

I did not like big tits and big ass so I thought... maybe I'm attracted to boys. Turns out that I was not, so what was I attracted to then? Was I asexual? Sapiosexual?

Turns out I like women, but it's a very different kind of attraction than the typical "heteronormative" attraction. Genitalia penetration does not turn me on. Big tits and ass does not turn me on. I figured that I did not like porn not because I wasn't attracted to women but rather because most porn are very degrading to women and genitalia close-ups, hardcore, and even blowjob closeups felt very weird. I was much more turned on by an image of a woman on something like a Maxim magazine. But I questioned - was it attraction then, because how would I be attracted to women if I'm not attracted to breasts, butts, and genitalia closeups? Is the attraction really just being attracted to pretty things like pretty art pictures?

Later on I discovered that I can achieve orgasm from a woman, and ONLY from a woman. I became so obsessed with it that I would masturbate very frequently over magazine pictures of a beautiful woman. The ones that turns me on the most are women who are lying down with their legs raised up. So what was I attracted to? To be honest I'm still kind of discovering.

good luck with that! it takes time.

i had a client that was similar to you, he had the same problem with bjs and penetration equating to degradation of women that turned him off. he found what he liked and stuck with it, just gets some taking used to - so its different than cis heterosexual males/females bc you can't "learn" from the normative portrayals of sex by media and peers, doesn't change things :)

there are many more SPs, some in agencies, that can't speak up for their views bc they are different from the clients. they are working under someone and it forces them to say things they don't agree with. i think that is also one main reason transphobia you see is skewed but there is more support and closet bisexual clients than what is shown!

I decided to initially book times with SPs to learn what I'm sexually turned on the most. I had penetrative sex with them, but it's different from the "in-out enjoyment" that cis het males tend to enjoy. I wasn't into the in-out and didn't do any thrusting but rather I enjoyed the overall intimacy we felt when we rubbed and touched our genitalia together. That was enough to allow me to get off.

I think I may be the type of person who require a lot of intimacy and closeness with a partner in order to get off.

You are learning about yourself. This is a journey we all must take.
Not all will be open to what they find. Thus never being able to find true happiness.

Saying "trans women are not women because they cannot make children" is not opinion; it's hate speech.

Agree

Saying "trans women are dangerous because they rape little girls" without quarter of an evidence to back it up is not opinion; it's hate speech.

Nope, it has happened and you cannot dispute that. Just like a straight man raping a young girl. Same thing, it's free speech.
That statement has an inference that *all* trans women are rapists and there fore dangerous. Making it, hate speech, not an opinion, or a statement presenting a fact. Replace trans women with white men, or black men, it'd still be hate speech. Trans women/men, hetro men/women, bi men/bi women, rape, humans rape, being of a particular sexual orientation doesn't make you more or less likely to rape anyone, and again, that statement infers that being a trans women does....which isn't accurate, nor an opinion, it's just hateful and ignorant. It might be good for some to review the national statistics of rape to educate themselves.
Making dick jokes about trans women or completely disrespecting their gender identity by calling them "bros" is not opinion; it's hate speech as well as being extremely disrespectful and crude.

Nope, all do it to different genders. None are special or immune to those insults and none cry wolf about it. My friend, learn to grow thick skin, it's not personal.
It's not the same, since the degradation almost always, isn't given with the same implication.
Opinions are like "I hate celery" or "I think Lady GaGa sucks" or "Toronto TTC system sucks" which is vastly different from stuff like "trans women are men" or "trans women molest little girls".

You are completely off base here. Opinions are what each individual has a right to say. Right or wrong still an opinion. If they start writing stuff like kill all or rape all, now becomes something that should be reported to the police.
Sorry but I think you're off base, your last to statements (trans women molest little girls, Trans women are men) aren't opinions, they're hate speech. There is a difference between stating an opinion and hate speech. Obviously and especially now, in today's society, we're all learning this because so many have been marginalized and broken because some people feel it is there right to call whomever, whatever, and to make statements, eluding to incorrect facts.
To those homophobic males here...open your hearts and minds and realize accepting others for what they are, won't make your penises fall off:)

Just my opinion.

There is a difference between stating an opinion and hate speech, surely that is something we've all learned, especially in today's society. When a person makes a statement to stereo type a specific group, it becomes hateful and propagandish. So I have to disagree with your belief that anyone stating that "trans women are dangerous because they molest/rape little girls" as being an opinion. As it has an inference which implies that *all* trans women are dangerous and more likely to rape little girls. Hate speech is speech that attacks a person or a group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation, disability or gender.
How we say and words things is especially critical in today's society. It may hurt to bite ones tongue, but I'm sure that pain is far less than the pain felt by those often affected by hate speech.

100% agreed. Thank you!

I don't know one iota about trans gendered people. There I admit it.

But I do know that happiness is hard to find so do whatever it takes and I'm down with it.
