My non-binary birth certificate a victory for trans community

@Winslow

i’d say escorting might be a bit too overstimulating for someone with Asperger’s but some just have one client a day and thats okay! i think it could be done if that person has learned social and coping skills in a treatment program or something, there are so many varying degrees of each illness so you never know! many even without ASD prefer bubbly SPs anyway hahahah no one likes an awkward session.

@DILLIGAF

i think you should still ask away! trans, non-binary etc. are not “bad words”, people are just afraid sometimes to use correct terminology when they don’t know much. goes for any other unknown topic! just try to be as respectful as you can, and i’m sure they would be happy to answer. you can never learn without making a few mistakes, i sure did back then.
@Muckchelle, thanks for the great response. Your post makes perfect sense. I agree that a female SP with ASD, could probably only see 1 client a day. Preferably, IMHO, a regular client.

You're also 100% correct. So many varying degrees of ASD.

Fair enough, but all my civilian friends are old, like I am---LOL In fact, I've never even met a gender non-binary individual before, in real life.

Yeah not a problem. I like you Winslow; we bond together like siblings. It's Robertson that is really irritating me and getting on my nerves with his constant mansplaining who's also stubbornly resistant to logic. I like how you are open to everything Winslow and willing to learn, just like me. I wouldn't be this way I am right now if it wasn't for the fact that I learn and digest other people's experiences. For instance, 2-3 years ago I was very anti-sex work who viewed sex workers as victims and agreed with the Nordic model. Now I'm practically a repeating client.

I'd say it's just difference in viewpoints and culture. I came from a very socialist background who's 20-30 years younger than most people on this forum. I'll admit I can be too idealistic at times and sometimes I need people like you to give me a reality check.

I'm still trying to educate myself on this issue. Here's a good you tube video that I found.

Thank you. This puts you above most people on this forum, even those who agree with what I say. The fact that you are willing to learn is more important than knowing things. The most important thing is intention; I don't expect everyone to be experts on everything.

@ @Winslow @Crimson Angel

I really hope you all keep chatting about this. I have had the good fortune to have had a few private pm's from Crimson before and I must say I learned so much from those chats.
I don't want jump into this conversation and ask a dumb stupid question or say something that will offend anyone but I must say I have a million questions I would like to ask
But before you say go ahead and ask I will tell you that I am 67 years old and not really sure what is accepted, what is not. What can you say and what can`t you say without being offensive or coming off like a dufus
So for now I will just keep my mouth shut and listen and learn.
Thanks again

DILLIGAF

Sorry if my posts came across as being exclusive with the "shut up and listen" approach but reality is most people (I'm looking at you Robertson and Damien) speak on behalf of other people's experiences who they never got to experience in the past. I have Asperger's, and it would infuriate me when a neurotypical (by the way that's the term for a non-Asperger individual - neurotypical) tries to pretend they know more about my condition than me myself. You're different - you're willing to learn, and that's the most important thing - intention. I could care less if someone was the expert on let's say communism or feminism (and by the way I hate using labels on myself because I find labels as meaningless because it's the view and opinions that counts) but if you are willing to have a conversation about a topic and willing to illustrate what you agree with what you don't agree with and why, then that's the most important part.

None of your posts mention anything about the typical Brownman/Canadaman/Robertson/Damien rambles and tirades about how gender identity doesn't matter or how our unique experiences mean nothing and blah blah blah so this puts you above most people.

Hi CA, I like you and your posts as well. Just don't get irritated by Robertson, he's just joking around on purpose. Actually Robertson's posts, make me laugh. His posts, keep things interesting!!

CA, don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing a great job on this website. IMHO, have some fun posting. Life is too short, to take these threads seriously.

Thanks.

I'll appreciate one thing though, that at least Robertson is honest. I'd rather someone say in front of my face how proudly racist/sexist/ablist/homophobic they are than for them to beat around the bush and try to take the high road but fails.

Also as much as I hate saying this but... I have social problems and I need to practice more on my assertiveness skills. So I know this is a "necessary evil" but I'm glad people like Robertson exist in this forum just so I can practice tearing him a new asshole every time he opens his stupid mouth. I wouldn't even think about blocking him because responding to him is like a sport to me and I'd continue to do so.

It's like killing two birds... I mean two animal abusers with one stone. On one hand I practice my assertiveness and communication and on the other hand I defend people who he oppresses.

Blah Blah Blah...I love how you constantly preach tolerance and inclusiveness while repeatedly playing the victim card, but then take every opportunity to take pot shots and spew intolerance, derision and hatred towards those that either don't agree with you or who find your life choices distasteful.

Just another punk-ass kid who thinks the world owes them something and we should all fall all over ourselves to apologize each and every day for the simple fact that YOU are the one who falls outside societal norms and as such have a hard time getting into lock step with the rest of the world. So tired.

Yawwwwwnnnnnn....
....
....
oh sorry was that Damien opening his sewer hole of a mouth spewing dumb shit like the typical Damien on this forum?

Yawwwwwnnnnnn....

PS: Thanks for letting me know you have a rather low opinion of people like me who "fall outside of societal norms". But too bad dipshit, I have Asperger's and I'm fucking proud of it. There are people who support me and my kind and I don't need someone like you dictate what I should do with my life. So kiss my ass... actually no... you wish you can kiss my ass.

I wouldn't expect anything less from an intolerant bigot.

CA, honestly fuck them... one day, when they’re old as shit and trying to prove their poor medical health for disability funding, then they’ll understand. or at the very least, realize they’re doing the exact same thing we are forced to do at a young age and most importantly... they will be contradicting their ableist beliefs.

we play the victim card bc we are victims..... of the world dealing us unfortunate cards. who cares, it gives us psychological strength over those who have not suffered the same. it’s a different point of view and that’s enough for me.

rather be different and eclectic than boring and the same as everyone else!

Last I checked, Asperger's was an affliction which influenced social behaviors. Apparently it makes you really fucking stoopid too, as evidenced above. <rolls eyes>

There is nothing in my statement that indicates I have a low opinion of people who fall outside societal norms. Rather, I have issues with people like you that use their condition as an excuse and justification to forever stand out rather than try to fit in with the rest of society. Part of being self-aware of your condition is making an effort to work within the social fabric. You personally use it as a constant excuse to play the victim, forever throwing out reasons why you can't do something. Try setting some goals and working towards them in spite of your condition some time instead as hiding behind the condition as the reason your life can't move forward.

The constant 'oh, poor me' negative, hateful attitude from you is where you lose respect, not because you have a condition that identifies you as falling outside of societal norms. I'm sure there are lots of people and organizations out there that support you - good for them. But why don't you try supporting yourself some time and drop the hang-dog 'woe is me' 'no one understands me' 'everyone is an intolerant bigot' 'Anyone who disagrees with me is an asshole' routine. It's tired. Your intolerance of anyone who even vaguely disagrees with you is epic to say the least, so maybe curb your enthusiasm for labeling others without a solid justification. In other words, if you're going to talk the talk on tolerance, best you heed your own advice and walk the walk.

By the way, I was happy to let you have your little 'moment in the sun' in this thread until you randomly and unilaterally singled me out for slagging with your horseshit jabs. I hadn't posted anything in this thread at all. When you attack someone who's standing quietly in the dark corner, don't be surprised when they step into the light and stick their foot up your ass. Motherfucker.

That's the problem right there. The world deals EVERYONE unfortunate cards at some point in life, each in very different yet just as impactful ways. But not everyone sees themselves as victims as you do. Maybe when you lose the negative attitude and stop seeing yourselves as woe-begotten, 'suffering' victims but rather as everyday people with different life challenges to overcome (just like everyone else), others will see you that way as well and approach you differently.

I mentioned your name Damien because frankly you're one of the loudest among the circlejerks who constantly preach about how cis-gender able bodied white heterosexual men are the most oppressed people in this society and how everyone else are just "playing the victim card". You're right I shouldn't have mentioned your name but may I ask - why did you respond so quickly after your name was being mentioned? Did somebody PM you? Were you a lurker of this thread, but instantly got defensive once your name was being mentioned?

"Apparently it makes you fucking stoooopid too" - I honestly stopped reading after that. Your bigotry towards Asperger people is clear as daylight and the end of the day nothing we say will ever change the fact that you're just another angry white man-child... actually no, you're now an angry white ABLE-BODIED man-child.

Right because calling out violent ablism is "displaying hatred towards white males without disabilities". How cute.

Didn't take long for this thread to fall apart. I don't truly understand all the things around gender identity either. And I know I'll likely end up inadvertently offending someone if I met one in real life. But, as long as I remain respect of people in general, I will get by.

I think there's been too much of "reading into other people's posts" lately. I took a little break from here and came back to find a lot of arguments, and for the life of me, I can't figure out where all the anger is coming from. It's possible that I read things with different lens than others. Unless someone is specifically taking shots at specific people, I tend to read all posts neutrally.

Remember, we can't always infer the right tone in another person's post. Text represents a very small percentage of true communication. And yet at the same time, text can be used as a tool to try to hurt other people. Is it possible to not resort to insults and personal attacks at the drop of a hat? Is it possible to read thru neutral lens and try to take other's words at face value? I'm liking some of the posts here. They are really making me think and broadening my views. But it gets hard to have to wade through all the hate and anger all the time.

@demien3k5 i’m deaf in one ear. if you knew deaf culture AT ALL you wouldn’t say any of that victim shit to me. i’m proud to be Deaf. if i’m following your claims, why should i pretend i’m hearing when i can’t? if you have glasses, do you pretend you can see?:biggrin2: would you play the victim card at least once if you’re disabled? most likely.

based on life so far, i should be depressed, “wallowing in self pity” or dead. but i’m not. you don’t know us. i don’t know you. you may be downright suicidal if you went through what i did. same thing vice versa. you never know. there’s a difference between “wallowing in self pity” and advocation.

make the best of what you have right? we’re all still alive.

i have no problem with white able-bodied people. that describes my boyfriend lol it’s people that tell us how to live when they don’t know how it feels. WE ALL HAVE WEAK DAYS, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.

@Muckchelle, awesome post. Very well said!!

Right because calling out violent ablism is "displaying hatred towards white males without disabilities". How cute.

When has any member here been physically violent towards you ?

Nobody here has indicated in any fashion, that they agree with what the van driver did.

But you just continually display your hated towards white males, again get help.
